ALPHA 0.4.1


This update adds a basic slave upload function. If you have a slave you're particularly pleased with and would like to see her as one of the possible starting slaves, select "Upload Her" from the slave menu. This will display a stats block which you can paste into the comments here to have your girl considered for inclusion.

The miniscenes added with this update should address most possible threesomes with pairs of slaves who are lovers and rivals. Of course, this is a long way from being completely satisfactory; many more scenes are needed, but nothing really absurd should appear. Let me know if you come across a pair of slaves who don't behave logically.

As usual I've read all the feedback left on 0.4, even where I haven't replied.

  • slave upload function that makes submitting a slave for hardcoded inclusion very easy.
  • Many new miniscenes, mostly involving pairs of slaves with various relationships between them.
  • Added descriptions to highlight the start of incestuous sexual relationships, which were already possible though rare.
  • Tattoos and piercings applied to penises and vaginas are now tracked separately, meaning that hermaphrodites can sport both.
  • Nerf to impact of devotion on milk income; rebellious cows' income is unchanged while devoted cows' income has been greatly reduced.
  • Minor UI improvements.
  • Many bugfixes.

  2. Hey FC dev, there seems to be a bug in the Merc falls in love with a slave event. When all of my slaves were married, it threw up $activeSlave.slaveName instead of a name. When i chose an option i got the fame, but none of my slaves dissappeared.

  3. Really wish there was an option for slaves to generate with middle and or last names. Getting a lot of Duplicate slave names, and it makes it hard to keep track of them. Also, would make keeping track of family groups a lot simpler.

  8. When you reduced milk income you seem to have forgotten to also change the descriptive text that is printed. The reported income from a devoted milk slave is around twice what the actual cash increase is. It appears all the reported earned amounts are off. The actual multipliers are 7,7,8,9,10 while the reported ones are 10,10,15,15,20.

    1. Another bug that I've been seeing is a mismatch with reported devotion on the weekly summary and the main page. For example on the weekly summary I'll see "no slave can be more completely devoted" but after clicking continue I'll see that they're still at devoted. I've also seen confinement reported to have no effect because they're obedient, but they show as fearful on the main page. After a week or two the main page seems to catch up to the weekly summary.

      Another thing is preventatives having effects while curatives don't. While on lactation drugs there is a chance to lose health useless they are on preventatives, however according to the encyclopedia preventatives are a cheaper version or curatives. So curatives should also prevent the health loss. It also seems to be the case with whoring, public service, glory hole, and older very healthy slaves.

      Are we supposed to use preventatives and curatives side by side for different purposes or should curatives be able to cover both cases if you're willing to pay for them? According to the encyclopedia "The only thing preventing their exhibition in all cases is their extremely high cost."

    2. In game terms Preventatives are what they sound like, they don't allow health to drop from weekly wear. Now you can still lower it with surgeries and other stuff like that, but it won't raise their health. Which is what curatives do. It gives a set raise to health. Curatives used to do both, but he separated the functions for reasons I can't quite recall anymore. You can go back and look at old versions to see why.

  9. Perhaps if two slaves have smart piercings, they could be set to make them become attracted to each other. Whenever they are close that both get good vibrations.

  10. POSSIBLE BUG:

    I don't generally surgically mute my slaves, but I have one that is Bitchy and tried to escape, so I muted her. However, she's been continuing to get the:
    Imani's still deeply unhappy at being a slave; her resistance dropped this week. Though she made progress this week, it is limited by the independence she regains by making snide comments.
    Even though she's muted. Which definitely seems like a bug to me? Although I suppose she might be pretty sassy with her writing or sign language.

    A quick suggestion: could you implement options to at least change the background color to white and possibly implement several "themes" players could use?
    I'm personally not a fan of the current black background.
    Also as someone said before, a little separation between slave summaries in the home screen would be great.

    The only thing that I liked changed so far would be to separate arms and legs ampuations. I like my girls to be able to still strut around in heels. And since you have a fighting pit, why not add a racing track too and have your girls compete as ponygirls in harnesses and ponyboots. You could even do some betting agains other archologies or something like that.

  19. Is the ability to 'turn off' rivalries (similar to how relationships can be prohibited) planned in the future for people who may not want to deal with it?

    Speaking of, what are the actual mechanical benefits/drawbacks/changes to slaves being in a relationship/rivalry?

    Couple things that seemed to slip through the slave review: the hardcoded slave Box has a race of 'Pale' and a skin color of 'white', seems like they got swapped. Purple Grape's race is 'pacific islander' but since it's not one of the min five she doesn't have a race listed in the slave listing.

    RE Desperate MILF seems to generate 100% shemales even on balanced or XX-only settings.

    Special Order slaves don't have any origin text.

    The buy/pass options for the Household Liquidator are still at the bottom of the slave description, unlike the other markets that got moved to the top.

    Suggestion for the Fight Pit: It would be nice if you could 'put' more than two slaves in there, and the game just chooses two randomly at the end of the week for a match. My first impression of the current implementation was that manually swapping slaves in and out would be annoying/fiddly, and I'd either end up keeping two 'dedicated gladiator' slaves or (more likely) not bothering with the pit. If you could just host a weekly fight between random slaves, you get to experience the pit without having to move slaves around every single turn. I guess this would make it a somewhat passive income/reputation source, but in my limited experience with it so far it doesn't seem like that would be a huge issue. Getting $1k/week maybe is fairly marginal in the grand scheme of things.

    Speaking of money, what is Free Cities currency called? The icon used is pretty unique and I don't recall anything being said about it in the encyclopedia.

    1. The change to milking income sounds ominous. Will reserve judgement until I can try it but I suspect the Dairy forcing Luxurious rooming will continue cutting into potential profits.

      I know you've said that letting players set all aspects of rules/clothing/etc for all facilities is a mess because of the code, but I think that one thing would go a long way to making the Dairy more viable (I've been playing on Hard and an extra $300/week per cow really hurts before they get to the huge udders stage).

    2. After going back to older versions and checking milk income, I don't think I'm that worried about the change anymore. The starting slave Sophia comes with 1,000cc natural boobs, in v0.3.11 you spend $300 on lactation implants and she immediately starts making $1,860/week.

      Also, I suppose if the 'floor' is staying the same and it's just the upper bounds of milking income being reduced, then I can go back to my fetish fuel of chemically lobotomized amputee cows...

  20. Just curious, is there a way to lose a skill once it is learned, esp. 'trained fighter' ? Not logical perhaps, but I'd like some easy unlearning method to start all over with my favorite girls. :)

    2. Lobotomised slaves are supposed to 'lose' their skills, but they don't, unless that was fixed in v0.4.1 and I didn't notice.

      In earlier versions, at least, lobotomization didn't effect whoring or entertainment skill at all, and actually set the sexual skills to 'skilled' even if the slave was unskilled.

    Fanta finds little sexual release in her duties, and is punished for illicit masturbation. Living under enforced silence molds her to your will. The spare living conditions get her used to the routine of slavery. The uncomfortable straps she's wearing constantly remind her of her servitude. She gains weight, so her breasts and buttocks grow slightly. She is now a healthy weight, so her diet has defaulted to normal. Being pumped full of A-HGH isn't healthy. Her butt swells painfully. Fanta obviously lusts after Khawla, and does everything she can to draw her closer. Having Fanta to rely on emotionally increases $slaves[$j].slaveName's independence. Her health recovers with rest.
    Fanta's still deeply unhappy at being a slave; her resistance increased this week.


    Also, are we going to get a way to make slaves fertile? I want to turn a couple men into women and force them to bear children.

      Getting an adult male body to grow a functional uterus would be pretty challenging (I'm guessing that the words "stem cells" and "nanomachines" are going to be involved, and maybe also the words "a wizard did it!"). Our hypothetical father wouldn't be able to bear children without significant changes to the bone structure of his pelvis. I have no idea whether the male body is even theoretically capable of hosting a placenta without provoking a severe immunological response (something akin to preeclampsia).

    2. You don't need a functional uterus to carry a child, there's a thing called ectopic pregnancy in which the embryo attaches outside the uterus which means that it's entirely possible for a child to grow damn near anywhere in your body.

      In the game we can turn male slaves into perfect replicas of women and force them to lactate and have an artificial womb but adding a device that simulates a menstrual cycle or even artificially impregnating a slave is too far fetched for you?

    3. Ectopic pregnancy is a medical emergency; the fetus almost never survives long enough to become a child. Without a hospital, there's a decent chance that the mother will die as well.

      Men lactate in real life. It's rare but it does happen - usually correlated with extreme stress or illness. It could presumably happen more often with deliberate hormone fuckery (and a complete abandonment of medical ethics).

      MtF transexuals also exist. The process requires surgery and months of hormone replacement therapy. Bump up the dosages, strip out the medical ethics, and suspend disbelief w/r/t surgical scars (also: oversized hands, undersized hips, weird-looking neovagina). It's vaguely plausible that you could transform a dude into a supermodel.

      Artificially impregnating a slave is completely plausible: find a lady and stick a syringe full of semen up her hoo-ha.

      Impregnating a MtF slave - whether naturally or artificially - isn't plausible under the stipulations originally laid out by FCDev. It's trivial to modify the CODE to support it, of course, so he could easily reverse his decision and add MtF pregnancy if he wants to. Or you can mod it into your own copy of the game.

  25. No matter what I do to give one of the "mercs fight off the rebel raid" slaves "exposure", the "merc in love" event keeps picking a slave who's never been a whore/public servant/gloryhole. Is age also a factor for the "merc in love" now?

    1. I think it might just be random, I had him want my bodyguard so I rolled back a week and bought a 19 year old rebellious slave to add to the cycle and he immediately picked her the next week

    2. According to code, game chooses one of slaves, assigned to whoring, public service or whoring at the moment of event trigger. If no such slaves found, game chooses random one.

    3. OK, this is weird. In my current save, the merc seems dead-set on a specific slave from the failed raid. I just reloaded again and tested by setting a different slave to whore; the merc did not change his mind. On a second reload, I hit a "tenant in debt" event the week before "merc in love" but did not set anyone to whore. When "merc in love" hit the following week, he suddenly wanted the tenant! Age isn't a factor either. I just reloaded again, bought an "early 30s" slave (on top of the tenant), and suddenly the merc wants the girl from the random market!

      ...OK, this is getting weird. I had a theory that the merc picks the slave with the lowest devotion, which is where his initial pick and the newly acquired slaves were in devotion order. I set the slave I wanted him to take off my hands to luxury, no restrictions, and no clothes. In the latest weekly update, she generated a "Having X to rely on emotionally increases $slaves[$j].slaveName's independence" despite not being in a relationship. Immediately after, the merc asked for $activeSlave.slaveName and offered ¤$slaveCost.

      So it looks like the merc picks the slave with lowest devotion if all other factors are equal, but I uncovered some sort of devotion / relationship interaction BUG.

    4. Another BUG uncovered while testing the above: if the slave who triggered "merc in love" is in a relationship when she's sold/given away, the relationship status does not update for the remaining slave.

      This resulted in the remaining slave having a "dislike" status on the main page but no mention of who she dislikes on her slave page. She also triggering the "two rivals" vignette at the bottom of the main page, but most of the text was replaced with errors because the game can't find the rival (who was given to the merc the week before).

  26. This is relatively minor, but can we get an option at the start to disable mutilated slaves for our starters? I don't care what other people want in their game, but that's just me hitting the restart button every time I see "Amputee" out of the gate. It just took me five restarts to not have at least one of my slaves butchered which is unusual. Normally I don't have that issue, but the RNG was messing with me this evening.

  27. Will a slave's weight have any more function in the future other than a diet option and a nicknaming scene? It's pretty easy to tell what the author likes and dislikes.

The current system is pretty reasonable for an initial implementation, especially considering the fact that FCDev has never written a computer program before :) Weight is treated as a simple integer: positive values are overweight, negative values are underweight, and the "autopilot" system tries to push them towards zero.

      It would be neat to see a mix of sizes. We could keep the current positive/negative system and labels (0...1 = chubby, 1...2 = overweight, etc), but use floating point adjustments. The autopilot might tolerate some level of variance (e.g. ±1.25) before it activates a special diet; girls whose weight falls within this range would presumably not be marked in red (because the player has chosen to allow it). Some girls might naturally tend towards thinness or plumpness. Girls on a cardio workout regime might tend to remain thin; cows might tend to become sedentary and fat. The brothel+promenade could award a bonus (akin to the slim/stacked and young/old bonuses) for having diverse bodytypes -- gotta satisfy the chubby-chaser demographic!

      Of course, this would presumably be an option on the Rules Assistant. So, if a player preferred to allow even *greater* bodysize diversity then they could presumably do so (although rail-thin and hyper-obese girls would presumably suffer health penalties). If someone wanted to maintain the classic "automatically adjust all slave diets to maintain normal weight" policy, then they could do so. Maybe some folks ENJOY seeing a roster of standardized cookie-cutter girls; there's no need to disrupt the Barbie-doll fantasy world.

While thinking that I see the point of healthy weight for slaves (market value, lowered fighting stats etc.) I still imagine that seeing some occupational hazards with the girls who live their life as the most pampered ones could be much fun. To each his/her own, I guess, but personally I'd welcome some 'fattening' house-rules as option. Almost as much hilarity as when I 'forget' to shut off the automatic remote surgery for a while. :) "OMG, they are going FAT this time? Argh!" lol.

    1. "Being confined" is counted as a "job" that slaves can be assigned to. As of right now, it seems that "has same job as another slave" is all the relationship mechanics care about. The weekly update refers to the slaves who become friends/rivals as "having the same job" even when they're set to REST.

It also looks like Head Girls and Body Guards do not get into relationships because those "jobs" are limited to one slave only, and that slaves placed into facilities like the milk farm don't progress (escalate or deescalate) their relationship status due to never showing up on the weekly update page.

    - I just got the 'mother recruiter' event. The mother was not one of my slaves, I just assumed it was an NPC in the arcology or something. The glitch is the new slave is listed as her own mother.
    " Ji-Ah comes fearfully before your desk from where she was resting, to be inspected and receive verbal orders. She sleeps on a bedroll, is not allowed to speak unless spoken to, is not allowed to associate freely with other slaves, and is not allowed to masturbate, and so must find sexual release in her duties. She seems reasonably healthy. Ji-Ah is young and fresh, only 18 or 19. She has been with you 1 week. She is bitchy and constantly tries to get a word in edgewise. Her green eyes gaze nervously at her feet. She is Ji-Ah's mother. She was recruited into your service by her mother. "

    - As a suggestion, if it hasn't been stated before, will/is it possible to sell slave pairs as a pair? Such as a mother/daughter, twins, siblings, slave married couple?

    This bug isn't exactly game-breaking, but at some point you might want to take a look at having all rivalry/relationship references to a character get cleaned up upon her death.

    I had two slaves develop a rivalry, then I screwed up and had one of them die. The remaining one was still marked as "Rival".

    2. Basically keep a slave confined long enough and they die if you aren't also doing something else to balance out their health loss. Or corseting. And confining plus corseting will drop health and might kill a slave unless you have the curative upgrade or you are giving them curatives plus working on their health, or having your HG work on their health. If you do it long enough.

      You can also drop their health far enough with surgeries or flogging them if events that allow you to do that proc. I flogged a girl to death once because she ran away. I forgot how unhealthy she was.

    3. Don't forget that breast size causes health reduction as well but no longer has an upper limit. In theory, a slave could die from unchecked breast growth.

    5. She had very low health when I bot her and was very rebellious. A few days in, she tried to escape, so I had her punished. I don't remember if the event makes it clear, but the "whipping" it's talking about apparently isn't of the playful BDSM kind, and more of a medieval "whip you till your skin comes off" kind. As a result, her health got to "near death" state the next day. I set her to rest and put my own focus on caring for her, but it didn't help. Got a red "Anastasia has died" message in the next report.

    6. I think it uses the phrase "flogging" for that event which is yes very damaging, and flogging has been a punishment since well before the medieval era.

      I'm surprised that she still died if you had her resting, and were caring for her. Did you have her on curatives or preventatives as well?

    This was just in the "end of week summaries", not as part as the "weekly event". During this same week, Shaimaa had:

    Shaimaa and Aleksandra see a lot of each other at work and strike up a friendship.

    Soooo . . . no idea if that's helpful or not. But there you go.

    1. This was part of Aleksandra's update, right? Looking at the order of the slave names in the text you quoted, I think what's supposed to happen is that Aleksandra's devotion should go down as a result of the relationship, so it should be "Having Shaimaa to rely on emotionally increases Aleksandra's independence".

      The devotion hit may still be happening behind the scenes, but in the visible text the names have gotten mixed up because the "get name of slave" function is pointing at wrong targets.

    One of your mercenaries requests an interview. He's a worn, grey-haired tank of a man, made bulkier still by heavy ceramic plate armor and lots of ammunition and gear. The murderous submachine gun favored for city fighting looks like a toy in his hands. But as he sits at your invitation, he seems almost bashful.

    "Sir, I'll say this straight. I'd like to buy one of your slaves. I've been seeing $activeSlave.slaveName a lot, and she makes the years sit a little lighter on me. I've scraped together what I can, and I can pay ¤$slaveCost." It's a decent price, probably a little less than you could get at auction. It's a huge sum for a mercenary; it's probably his entire savings. You ask what he would do with her. "Well," he says, actually blushing, "I'd free her. And marry her, if she'd have me."


    If this event is about my bodyguard, she is the female part of a trap/female twin group raised in schools if that is relevant.

    1. This is the "mercenary in love" event, which fires two weeks after the "raid on the arcology" event. I reported seeing the same in an earlier comment. What's happening is that game has picked a non-existing slave for the merc to ask about.

      Why this is happening? I think it has something to do with your least-devoted slave and the relationship statuses interacting in some way. Were any of your slaves set to whore or serve the public? If not, what was the devotion of your least-devoted slave, and her relationship statuses (if any)?

      By chance, I had two slaves called Sarah at the time which may be relevant.

  35. Did devotion get nerfed overall? I'm seeing slaves stuck in devoted, obedient, and even fearful, despite triggering multiple devotion increases from clothing and living conditions. Hell, even having a slave wife doesn't seem to be enough to bump devotion any more, when in the last version (0.4) marriage gave a tangible increase.

    1. I'm finding I have to get them to nympho plus have them be a subordinate sex slave on top of the regular luxuries to make any real progress beyond obedient. And even then some days devotion just doesn't go up for some reason

  39. I noticed this morning that being branded doesn't give a reputation bump for slaves set to milking duty ('be a milk cow').

    Since the description for the job talks about the slave walking around the arcology offering people their milk, should a brand give a little rep for that?

  40. Something is causing a leak of devotion/obedience. The weekly report indicates one slave got obedient, but on the main screen she's still fearful. I finally get my bodyguard to worshipful thanks to an event, and after a week without apparent loss (devotion at human maximum), she drops back to devoted.

    Kinda tedious to deal with.

  43. If i may make a suggestion (or request i guess) for a modification of how things are done currently.

    -Add a belly size variable that would function exactly like breasts and butts.

    -Pregnancy would increase it, as would gaining weight. It would allow a slave to be both fat and pregnant and have the game reflect that better.

    If not that then having a few notches about overweight status would be great too. ( obese, morbidly obese).

    I could help with those descriptors if you'd like (and decide to touch that part of the game)
