ALPHA 0.6.11: People Skills


One of my main goals for FC is to avoid situations in which the player is forced to choose between what's sexy and what's mechanically rewarding. This is why slave outfits fit into broad categories rather than offering unique bonuses: to avoid a situation in which the player dresses all slaves assigned to whore in one specific outfit because it's the best choice from a profit perspective. That's less fun, and hinders replayability because mechanically superior choices become the default choices. (The rules assistant is very useful to me as a check against this; if I find myself setting it up the same way every game, I examine the reasons why.) From this perspective, slave relationships have been problematic since they were introduced. Permitting them for devoted slaves offers many benefits and has no real downside, making the choice of whether or not to permit broken slaves to get together no choice at all.

This update adds an alternative to the existing relationship track. Slaves who reach both high Devotion and high Trust and still consider themselves single (within the very different conception of relationships that Free Cities slave culture maintains) will fall into one of two possible statuses, both of which offer benefits comparable to but different than having a lover or being in a slave marriage. Slaves with extremely high sex drives will become Emotional Sluts, a status in which they try to address their human need for social and romantic support through nothing but sex. Conversely, slaves with lower sex drives who do not have close emotional connections with a peer will instead focus these social needs on the player character, becoming Emotionally Bonded to their Master or Mistress.

Relationship updates
  • Added an Emotional Slut relationship status, in which slaves avoid relationships entirely, relying on sex for their emotional needs.
  • Emotional Sluts receive a bonus to performance on public sexual assignments like Whoring, superior to the bonus from working with a wife or lover.
  • Additionally, Emotional Sluts greatly enjoy public sexual assignments.
  • Added a Emotionally Bonded relationship status, in which slaves rely completely on the PC for their emotional needs.
  • Emotionally Bonded slaves do better at private sexual assignments like Fucktoy duty.
  • Additionally, Emotionally Bonded slaves enjoy private sexual assignments, and gain a small weekly bonus to both Devotion and Trust regardless of assignment.
  • Slaves who reach high Devotion and Trust without forming relationships with other slaves will become either Emotionally Bonded or Emotional Sluts, depending on their sex drive.
  • Slaves who reach very high Devotion and Trust without advancing a relationship to a sexual stage will likewise become either Emotionally Bonded or Emotional Sluts.
  • Losing Devotion or sex drive will remove Emotionally Bonded and Emotional Slut status, respectively.
  • Reduced the advancement rate of relationships in general.
  • Attraction and sex drive now play a much more significant role in the advancement of sexual relationships.
  • Romantic slaves now enjoy an increased chance of relationship advancement.
  • Sinful and Perverted slaves now enjoy an increased chance of advancing an incestuous relationship.
  • Devoted slaves in slave marriages now receive weekly Trust bonuses in addition to the existing Devotion bonuses so long as the marriage is allowed to continue.
Other changes
  • Increased reputation produced by slaves with perfect Devotion and Trust: one such slave will now organically produce reputation worth several hundred ¤ weekly.
  • Rebalanced reputation decay.
  • Code revision and consolidation.
  • Bugfixes.

  3. Haven't actually had a chance to try the new build yet, but quick thought - maybe override the Emotional Slut/Bond decision if it happens while the slave is on Fucktoy duty or in the Master Suite?

    Basically harems becoming bonded to the Oligarch even if they're total nymphos seems appropriate to me.

    2. It's been doing this since before 0.6; sometimes the rules assistant changes from "slave's choice" to "choosing her own clothes", which causes all rules assistant-affected slaves to remain naked.

  9. I'm curious, I found that I like to brand slaves that get abused in my Arcade and Industrial Dairy, to mark them as the unworthy ones.
    So, what is the possibility of having a function/button to brand all the slaves in an area like that?

  16. Since trying to avoid making certain styles of play mechanically better than others is a stated design goal. Is there a chance of a kinder/ paternalistic alternative to the industrial Dairy being added? Currently being cruel to your cows is objectively a more profitable/ mechanically advantageous course of action.

    I've raised the notion of an artisan dairy before. One with pampered cows. Could that perhaps serve as an alternative to industrialization? Pampered and happy cows. Perhaps while not as logically profitable as industrialization the mechanics could maybe be blanced out by the Artisan dairy being more prestigious to operate?

  18. I found a glitch in one of the random events. When a mute slave is crying in the shower, you get the option to 'just talk to her', if you do so, she actually talks, which seems strange for a mute slave.

  22. INCONSISTENCY - wiki page for "Madam" does not link to the other leadership positions (Attendant, Bodyguard, etc.) even though those positions link to the "Madam" page.

    Also, can we please get a centralized "Leadership Position" entry back on the wiki, ideally one that lists at least the position requirements together? I keep having to find Attendant in the glossary and then click through each position's entry individually just to locate a leadership position that a given "important" slave can occupy efficiently.

    Every week, I get this message on one of my slave, 1 I got at the start : (remove spaces around the 2 'if')

I managed to figure it out, leave it as indexOf or whatever, but change the "$slaves[$i].origin isnot 0" to "typeof $slaves[$i].origin is "string"" (or $activeSlave.origin, I can't remember which). That seemed to fix it. I think this means there's some origins that aren't zero but also aren't strings.

  26. Would it be possible to disallow nicknames events for slaves that haven't been with you for a reasonable length of time, like a few weeks at least? I've had the slaves earned from the attacks on the arcology pop up for nicknames the same week they get added; as in right after the event where I get them.

    1. I usually just hit the continue on the top left (where the end week option is) and they'll have a nickname pop up come later on still. I do this for all slaves which I feel haven't earned a nickname yet.

  27. First off, love the game. This is the guy who was nagging about not being able to see hair and eye color in a patch. Is it not possible to customize hair and eye color at the start? It's for this very reason that I usually avoid making a slave at the start. All my dreams would come true if this could happen.

    I've always felt like glory holes are The Wrong Choice. They make slaves hate you, don't produce a lot of money, and usually end up mindbreaking people so they're also worthless to sell. I guess you could shunt them into the dairy at that point, but is there any way to make glory holes not so punishing?

    I guess the ideal would be to have some kind of hidden "detachment" stat which, if it goes high enough, makes devotion and trust irrelevant (or locks them to some neutral value) - she'll go along with what you want, even if she hates it, without becoming mindbroken. Really I've just always wanted to force slaves into rough positions without having them mindbreak.

    (An easier modification would be to make humiliation sluts enjoy/accept glory hole duty, and maybe also cumsluts - the least amount of sex for the greatest yield of cum.)

  34. When a slave's health hits -10, it disappears from the list. I'm assuming the slave is dead at that point? it would be nice to have some kind of notice that telling you how many slaves died during the week. I'm trying to come up with a combat system mod, So i'm trying to figure out how to handle the death of slaves.

    1. Weekly update used to have a "slave passed away due to low health" paragraph - or maybe I'm thinking of the surgery when the slave is operated on despite recommendations? My usual playstyle is "nice" so I haven't done a lot of testing of this.

    2. I have just tested it. I brought the slave's health to 9.9 and set her to work the glory hole, and it just disappeared next week. There was no message saying she died.

    3. To follow up, I accidentally a whole slave. She had new parts to be implanted, and I decided to also tighten a few things while she was already there, one thing led to another - you know how it goes - and...she's gone. No message, no warning, no acknowledgement of dying on the operating room table.

      The weird thing was, the surgery message is still there! I went back and tested things with breast implants. Sure enough, she died on the operating table when she hit -10, but there was a message saying so.

      So what I think is happening is that either not situations where a slave hits -10 are being reported as deaths. Certainly not all surgical procedures are being reported as surgery deaths, probably because the newer ones never had the "show a death screen before removing the slave from the game" code inserted.

      Less of a bug and more of an INCONSISTENCY in that only *some* slave deaths are being reported to the player.

    4. yeah I found out at the end of the week, if your slave's health hits below -10 naturally or by some other cause, it just gets removed without any warning. Its not so much of a problem but when you have alot of slaves it gets hard to keep track which one died.

  35. Something about the new ''milk farm'' that I don't understand.

    I set it to be 'Industrial', and set everything to the highest level(industrial) possible, I then put slaves compatible with the place(large enough orifices), and finally I 'mind broken' them... Except that they keep randomly reverting back to their normal/not mind broken self !

    This both mystifies and annoys me greatly, ever more so since that status is... and I quote the game here :

    « permanent and irreversible. It will destroy her will and her ability to remember anything but the simplest skills. »

    1. Does this happen to mindbroken slaves acquired from other sources?

      I'm asking because, if this bug only happens to the slaves who specifically got mindbroken by the milking, the MB state is clearly not being properly applied. But if a slave who was already MB stops being so once in the milker, the issue is that the milker is not recognizing that a slave is already MB before applying mental state changes.

    2. This can happen in a few different places. What's happening is that either the slave is getting forcefully changed to another fetish (example, having the phallus feeders in the penthouse can force a Mindbroken slave to switch to Cumslut, which 'un-mindbreaks' them) or they're getting a 'lowered kinkiness' event which also 'un-mindbreaks' them (MB is treated as a fetish, and losing fetish strength 'resets' them to Vanilla).

      I sent an email off to FCDev yesterday with a bunch of fixes for these errors, so hopefully they should be taken care of in the next release.

Forgot the actual problem: What it sounds like is happening in this dairy example specifically is that your mind-broken slave has a quirk (v0.6.11 wasn't clearing quirks if MB happened from the dairy, that was another fix I mailed off) and it's causing her to spontaneously gain a fetish which would force her to 'break out' of MB status.

      Probably Gagfuck Queen or Painal Queen resulting in Cumslut or Buttslut, I bet?

    4. So, for the 'source'... So far, I only saw it happen in the Dairy, because that's the only place were I have(or am trying to, at least) 'mind broken' slaves. *I* personally mind broke them.

      For trying to find 'when' it happen exactly... I could try to find out who change and who ''un-mindbrake'', but I have 15 slaves in the Dairy, and it's lit up like pumpkin barfed a chrismas tree. I think I would literally need to make screenshots of the page to be able to 'see' the differences reliably.

  36. So I ran into a bit of a problem, My hardcodes slave Lillium doesn't show her Whore and Entertainer skill except on her extended bio. As well when I made her head girl she didn't seem to be able to teach any skills. She just kept failing to make an impact on a slaves anal skill for several months

  39. Hi, I love the game so far and it's an astounding piece of work.

    Regarding slaves recruitment / relationships, you already have twins, sisters and mother/daughter. My suggestion is to expand this to have aunt/neice and cousins too. :D

    This has already been suggested somewhere but please add the ability to give amputees and surgically mute slaves something similar to cybernetic limbs and voice-boxes with the ability to enhance them further.

    Some typos identified: 'skilful' instead of 'skillful', 'witnissing' instead of 'witnessing' and as mentioned above 'betwee' instead of 'between'

    4. From my understanding the coding, rebuilding someone's limbs or voicebox is mechanically simple, just remove the "mute" or "amputee" tag (in the latter case, maybe also reset muscle to zero to mean that the limb grafts must be exercised to regain strength).

      Of course, in-game regrowing someone's arms and legs would be insanely expensive, but as far as coding it in, it looks fairly simple to do.

      What, I like playing Frankenstein, but I also like my test subjects happy.

  41. I know you've said that you don't want to include heavy player customization because of the heavy coding, but would it be possible to add a small racial customization for the player? Adding "white", "black", "asian" or etc before the word "cock" in most player involved scenes would be enough to include it. Maybe add a reputation bonus or penalty depending on the superiority and inferiority social changes that the player might induce?

  44. The Cellblock softening system doesn't seem to be working for me. I get the message about the flaw being corrected into a quirk, but the slave still has the flaw and no quirk. Not sure if the devotion penalty is being applied either.

Just as an FYI, this comment is written by someone whose main fetish with this game is the girls being so lustful for you (/in love with you) that they'd sell themselves in slavery all over again to be with you. And they consider themselves so unworthy of you that they prefer being your slaves and expect you to take other lovers besides them. So basically like the "Handsome PC acquisition" event. But I also like the idea of taking slaves that are rebellious and using your cock to turn them into lust-toys.

    So needless to say, the "emotionally bonded to you" is a GREAT addition (I never use the "slave wives" feature). One problem, though. When they're emotionally bonded to you and you give them the option of what they want to do, they rarely chose to be your fucktoy. What I've seen is that unless they have a pregnancy fetish (in which case they become your fucktoy), they tend to become a whore or public servant or if their sex drive is low, a house servant. What feels off about it is that the whores/public servants of course don't come to you for sexual relief, so the "emotionally bonded to you" doesn't play out at all.

    SUGGESTION:
    - Emotionally Bonded slaves with average to high sex drives should generally choose to become fucktoys, with their preferences (boobslut/cumslut/etc.) perhaps reflecting how that plays out
    - Emotionally Bonded slaves with low sex drives could become servants (perhaps with a note in the flavor text about them serving you in particular), but they come to you for sexual relief even if they are permitted masturbation

    If you want them to whore or serve the public and they'd rather be your fucktoy, tough on them. :p You can override their desires. But it makes sense to me that their desire should be to want to be with you as much as they can.

  47. So... I'm trying to figure out why the game set slaves to 'fattening', when I tell the 'Rules Assistant' to give slaves the diet : Include cum in slaves' diets

    There's already a diet to make slave fat... and an option, when manually handling them, to fed them cum... So, it's weird that the game, when using the 'Rules Assistant' ignore the 'feeding cum' and instead set slaves to 'fattening' ?

    I'm looking in the codes, using Notepad++, and the only thing I discovered is that the game gives this line when selecting 'cum' :
    $defaultRulesSlave.diet is 2
    Couldn't find why '2' equals to 'fattening' instead of 'cum' though...

    Seems like the slave given to me at the start, here 'Purple Grape' is bugged as HELL !
    Whatever it's the slave 'Purple Grape' herself, or the fact that it's the first/given slave at the start, or something new added into the game (I'm pointing at the 'Slave Shelter' thing)... Something is messing with something here, definitely.

    Wherever she is placed, she gives an error message, but that's the first BIG one.
    Under the Head Girl, it was something small about the 'Slave Shelter'... Here, this is after placing her into the 'Brothel'.

  49. been wondering this, but is there a way to raise the citizenship of your arcology?? coz one of my play-throughs got me with 160-180 citizens and round 1000+ sex-slaves and 6000-8000 menial slaves after 200+ weeks (this play-through i chose the be nice to the slaves route), surprisingly my degradation route ended up with 2000-2500 citizens, 2000-3000 sex-slaves, 6000+ menial slaves after 200+ weeks

    i was wondering if you can set your recruiter girl to stop recruiting slaves and start recruiting citizens, coz at the later point you really dont need or want more than 100+ slaves so the recruiter girl kinda gets useless after 150+ weeks or so

    also that event where your Mistress (the one that leads your personal sex-slaves in your room) gets an interview and if i recall the interview if it goes well kinda gives free advertisement for your ecology, so maybe that event can increase your citizenry even if its just 10-100 people

    Here are some suggestions from a person who hopes this game grows even more.

    Add a new social policy that involves bimbos and whoring. The main idea is that it would promote white slaves (A race that does not have its own revival thing yet). Things that would support the social policy would be a slave being white, DD breasts or bigger, slimmed waist through surgery, blond hair, normal height (Or tall or short, go crazy on choosing). Women whoring in the brothel would also promote the social policy.

    Make a way to view the actions and have a detailed report of the slaves in the various buildings. This would be able to be toggled, to allow people who just want those not assigned yet to buildings not have a cluttered "end of day" report. But for people like me, who want to see the changes that happen to my slave as they work in the various buildings, or the sexy descriptions of them doing the actions like any other action that is done outside of buildings to enjoy it.

    Lastly make a way to remove the upgrade for the brothel that injects the occupants with addictive drugs. This would be a small thing to add that would really help if you accidently bought it and regret the purchase.

    Keep up the good work and like always, stay true to your vision of the game.

  53. i suggest to rearrange the new society options a bit. That means splitting in different levels.
    level 1 are basic things like promoting big assets for slaves. level 2 are options which will require one or two level 1 oiety options archieved.

    example:
    after you have achieved
    level 1: promoting big breasts
    and level 1: treating slaves like animals instead treating them like 2nd class humans
    will allow you to unlock the option
    level 2: slaves should be cows

  54. First let me say that you do a great job adding more features to the game and cannot wait to see where the Wasteland (which I wasn't able to find online. I thought you had some old version out or something). There are various things that I thought would improve the game:

    1. Backwards compatibility - Having to restart EVERY time you add a new version is a pain in the ass, even with the New Game plus option, which I am not sure as to its actual impact vs regular gameplay

    2. When slaves enter their first stage of a relationship they should immediately ask for your blessing. It would sound counter to the PC enabling the relationship option in the menus but perhaps the PC wants certain slaves to NOT be in a relationship with certain other ones.

    3. The events that randomly trigger are too few in my opinion. If it is a vast world that is going to hell and if your arcology is constantly developing with it's few thousand citizens and slaves then A LOT more things should be happening.

    There were some other ones but cannot remember them ATM. But again great work! Keep it up!

  56. Does anyone plan to make a snuff mod? Maybe the person with the "Dinner party" mod, or someone else?
    Maybe a snuff show where a slave shows off her entertainment/sex skills and then gets snuffed as the highlight. High Devotion and trust, also humilation, masochist or submissive traits would give bonus points (you could even serve the slave as a dish to the guests after the show is over)

    Public snuff: A option to snuff criminals for their crimes (after some rape ofc)

    Private snuff: A option to snuff a slave yourself for your own amusement/stat boost for other slaves. It would give a extreme fear boost for all "normal" slaves below a certain devotion level (over the level no fear effect), slaves with masochist, submissive and dominant/sadist get a devotion boost instead

I second the interest and the concept; I suspect the first step would be to at least have an event or something in the actual game that notifies us when a slave has died of illness or excessive surgery, and we might be able to use that framework to intentionally snuff slaves. It would be, from an economic perspective (let's just ride past the abhorrent moral questions here and cater to our inner sickness), somewhat decadent to destroy something that provides routine income, so the act itself would either be economically disadvantageous to the player or be done for a substantially-sized audience to make it profitable. I imagine only Degradation Future Societies would be able to pull it off... though the Pit fights and the Roman model might also do.

      FCDev, I know you mentioned that guro (etc.) is something you won't touch, and I thoroughly respect that and the incredible work you have done to create this amazing game, so we know better than to ask you to assist in the project. But if in future updates you happen to create an event notifying us of slave deaths due to poor health or other causes, that would be deeply appreciated. As all updates are already deeply appreciated, you just keep doing the magic that you do, prioritized as you wish.

      LOVE THIS GAME. Thank you for your time and effort in creating it.

    2. It wouldn't even have to be guro snuff (with guro I mean blood/graphical damage and such), you could simply snuff them via asphyxiation (hanging, garroting, drowning, choking [hmm ring-gag and then let her choke on a cock till she dies] etc.).

      A modder may make graphic guro content like: Decapitation, stabbing, shooting, roasting/burning alive or the all time classic: A snuff machine
      (maybe take a look at http://perilousthoughts.com/ for further ideas).

      Also a centralised place to post mods would be nice, maybe in a forum like Fenoxo.com? (EXCEPT THAT LOLI MOD! THAT CAN STAY ON THE CHAN!)

    3. Well it would be relatively easy to make something like that. All the slave states are in place for it. Some one will just have to write the scenes. With variations on what happens if a slave have big boobs, small boobs, and what not. I'm not much of a writer, if someone writes something I could try to put it into the game.

    Secondly, a comment on the new mechanic. My slaves are all ending up emotionally bonded, with some switching in and out of that every single week. New slaves tend to be low/no sex drive, so they *cannot* become emotional sluts nor enter a sexual relationship with another slave. It also seems very odd that some (eg Head Girl) switch in and out constantly.

    From the slave's individual page:

    "Her mammaries, 10325 CCs each, are so large that her shredded Her tits dominate her entire frame."

    I think the first sentence is normally a reference to how the slave's muscles are getting a workout from the slave simply standing up under the weight of the tits, but this combination appears to be missing a description.

    2. The lab slave starts out with massively overpowered health (25 when the "normal" max is 10) and loses health to variable detrimental effects (drugs) much more rarely than the other slaves.

      She also starts out as "barren", but doing any surgery on her will reveal a "restore her fertility" option.

  70. BUG - the "prestigious cow" event can still occur in the same week the rival arcology owner is enslaved. If it does, the rival's enslavement follow-up (with the "public tour - rival fucked by slaves - public gelding / anal use" choices) does not show up at all.

    It looks like the choices for the "prestigious cow" event send the game directly to the next week's main screen, ignoring the follow-up that's waiting to trigger.

    "She's originally Irish; ethnically, she's mixed race, and her skin is 0. Her hair is 0."

    The "brown pubic hair" part seems constant, even when head hair is generated to be a different (existing) color - red, blonde, etc.

In this special case the upper part of the text screen was filled with errors and in the lower part was mentioned that i havent enough money to get the mother. But at this specific point in the Game i had much more cash than 10.000.000 .
