ALPHA 0.6.6: "Compulsive Behavior"


There have been two good, substantive criticisms of FC I've seen repeatedly:
  • Individual slaves lack character.
  • The player is expected to track and manage too many things.
Addressing either of these without making the other one worse is difficult. Giving slaves more mental nuance will add things to manage and track; making management and tracking easier will tend to suppress individuality. With this update, I've attempted to strike a balance between these objectives by adding mental qualities that will develop naturally within existing gameplay. If the player wishes to micromanage them, existing tools like smart clit piercings and relationships can be used to affect them. If not, playing FC normally will tend to improve these qualities anyway, making them nothing more than added flavor. Optimizing them is not necessary to succeed. I hope this will allow players who want to play more of a role in their slaves' mental lives to do so without burdening those who do not.

This is likely to be the final major expansion of mental attributes in FC. This means that I decided against going with multiple fetishes. With Twine, that would have required handling an array every time fetishes were invoked; I'm not sure either I or Twine are up to that. The Nympho and Bisexual fetishes have been replaced by sex drive and orientation systems respectively, which gives us a reduced fetish list of Oral, Anal, Sub, Dom, Sadist, Masochist, Pregnancy, and Boobs. All remaining fetishes now have three levels.

This new mental system is (hopefully) functional, but incomplete. Planned additions include:
  • Better text coloration and other UI refinements for the new stats.
  • Additional benefits for level 3 fetishes.
  • Reduced likelihood of moving away from a level 3 fetish.
  • Better interactions between sex drive and fetish development.
  • Major encyclopedia rewrites and additions to explain all of this.
Obviously, these do not need to be suggested. If you would prefer a more polished version of FC, wait. I'm very aware that a conservative update that fixes more than it breaks is long overdue, and the encyclopedia alone needs an update's worth of time put into it.

0.6.6 Changelog

Slave orientation
  • Slaves' attraction to men and women is now tracked separately from fetishes. It can be modified by many factors, but is slow to change.
  • Sexuality can be unknown like fetishes, but will usually be discovered in the normal course of play, within a few turns.
  • Removed the Likes Girls fetish; most associated situations are now triggered by maximum attraction to women.
  • Added mirrored versions of many situations triggered by the Likes Girls fetish for slaves with maximum attraction to men.
  • Orientation is now a factor in the formation of slave relationships, but is not a hard requirement.
  • Sexual relationships can increase attraction, based on the level of commitment.
  • Heavy hormonal treatment will reliably modify sexuality.
  • Added settings for smart clit piercings to alter sexuality.
  • All remaining fetishes will increase either XX or XY attraction.
Sex drives
  • Slaves' sex drives are now tracked independently from fetishes. Like sexuality, they can be modified by many factors, but are slow to change.
  • Like sexuality, sex drive can be unknown; the two qualities are revealed concurrently.
  • Removed the Nympho fetish; most associated situations are now triggered by maximized sex drive.
  • The All setting for smart clit piercings will now increase sex drive.
  • The Fitness quirk will increase sex drive.
  • Aphrodisiacs will increase sex drive; Extreme Aphrodisiacs increase it more quickly.
  • Outstanding health will improve sex drive; good health will improve it very slowly.
  • Excessive Trust and Devotion will advance sex drive.
  • Loving relationships will gradually improve sex drive if one of the partners is a nympho, they share sexual interests, or they fit each others' sexualities.
Fetishes
  • Fetishes now occur in three levels:
    • The first is generally an interest or a tendency, and has little benefit.
    • The second is similar to the way fetishes worked previously, or somewhat weaker.
    • The third is similar or somewhat stronger, and resistant to some fetish changes.
  • Preexisting ways to acquire fetishes will produce fetishes at varying levels depending on the slave and the situation.
  • Some preexisting ways to acquire fetishes can now advance them as well.
  • Aphrodisiac addiction can enhance existing fetishes.
  • A maximized fetish will prevent many fetish changes.
  • Fetish strength is now a factor in most fetish effects, affecting their frequency or power.
  • High Devotion and Trust can cause fetishes to progress naturally; low Devotion and Trust can cause regression or even loss of fetishes.
Starting slave creation
  • Added a custom input submenu to starting slave creation for most descriptive strings.
  • Included options to customize sexuality and sex drive; selecting Unknown will hide both options since they are revealed together.
  • Basing a new slave on a slave with fetishes or sexuality and sex drive set to Unknown will re-randomize those qualities.
Other changes
  • The spacebar will no longer end the week, and enter will no longer do anything other than end the week.
  • Slaves serving Head Girls now have a devotion-based chance of failure at energizing the Head Girl; only a Worshipful slave can guarantee success.
  • The effects of sex work on holes are now dependent on the popularity of the slave; pussies are somewhat more resilient than asses.
  • More nicknames and degrading names.
  • A fourth future society option will now unlock at extremely high reputation.
  • Examining a slave within a facility will now constrain the Next and Previous options to cycle through slaves in the same facility.
  • Bugfixes.

    1. I am not. However, the code is extremely easy to learn - I had no experience when I started this. Open a scene similar to what you're writing in Twine and copy-paste stuff over.

  5. I've just read one of your posts about where this game is headed and about it being a prequel to Wasteland. I find that quite awesome to be honest! You're planning a sequel for this game! Which is already an awesome game. No arguments there. So how far along are you? How many more updates will it take for the game to be finalized? Will we be waiting for long? Have you already started on Wasteland?


    Back to Free Cities. Here are some questions I'd really like to know.

    1) What is the different levels of reputation by name? I've played ver. 0.6.1, 0.6.2.3 and 0.6.5.2. In all three, I've managed to get to "Prominent" and seeing as it didn't change in a long while, I assumed that it was the highest. Is it?

    2)I seem to always only unlock two of three possible societies. Never could figure out how to unlock all three. Do I need to choose societies which have some kind of connection to each other to unlock all three?

    3)How can I sell two slaves together? Mother-daughter pairs, etc. Cause it was mentioned that selling them together brings more profit but I can only sell one at a time. And of course that brings a negative or positive effect depending on the buyer and on the mother/twin/sister's relationship with sold slave.

    4)What are placeholder events???

    You've managed to make me interested in wanting to create a game, but as is often the case, I'm no programmer. I downloaded Twine yesterday and loved how it worked! :D Thought I could make something before I read the wiki and forums and realised that there's still a lot of programming to be done. For now, I'll make a story game with very little interaction until I can either find someone to help me, teach me or figure out what I can learn. Considering that I'm making(writing) an erotic story, there's no way I'm asking anyone I know.

    1. 1) I don't know all the levels either, but I do know the highest attainable level is "Worshipped" and it takes quite a while to achieve.

      2) Future Societies, as I understand them, are unlocked as your Reputation increases, once you hit a certain level, the option unlocks. To get the third, you probably just need to get it a good bit higher. I'd suggest expanding the club and increasing the advertisement budget while ensuring the girls inside match all it's criteria. If you also happen to have a prestigious slave, train it up and make it your concubine for another rep boost. Another easy way to get quick rep is to just build the servants house and just throw any slaves you get that you don't currently have time to train in there. While they're inside, they actually reduce your upkeep depending on their devotion level and, more importantly, just being there gives you a small reputation boost. Having a good number of bed slaves is also a good way to increase your reputation gains. Don't forget to hold pit fights, and very tall, very healthy, muscular, combat trained fighters with high devotion give the best results.

      3) So far all posts I've seen on this say it's something that's planned to be put it in later or it just doesn't work atm.

      4)Each turn you end a random slave is selected for an event, each slave has to meet certain criteria in order to initiate specific events. If the slave selected for the event doesn't meet ANY criteria for ANY event, you get the placeholder event, which just automatically awards a small devotion and trust boost. This is likely a measure put in place to either just act as a consolation prize if your slave otherwise would just have nothing happen, or it's also an actual place holder as well and he plans to make an event that plays in the unlikely occurrence no other event is possible.

      If you want, you can try importing Free Cities and actually altering the text for certain events as practice. Once you think you understand how it works by seeing it in action you can try and make your own events and see if you can get them to trigger. If you can manage that you'd be off to a good start.

      1) I've noticed that the current version seems to have numbers next to the reputation that calculates the rep. It wasn't there before so I have no idea if it was intentional or a mistake in coding but I find it useful as now I can keep track of which actions impact it the most! XD However, I'm sure a lot of people are going to complain about it being "out of sync" with the rest of the look of the game or something.

      2) Well, seeing as I have never achieved Worshipped level, I'd guess that that's my number one reason for not unlocking it. I have used the servants house every time, only recently have I started using the club as before I couldn't understand why there was a need for a place that made no profit (btw, how much advertising are we talking here??), I do add a concubine but again I'm not sure how it all works. I have managed to find an easy way to obtain one very prestigious slave. It's an event that happens only after the Daughters attack and fail, giving you information on a arcology owner who pointed to you. If you reveal the info to the public, you open an event which allows you to then precede bankrupt the owner. Once that's achieved, the owner contacts you to make a deal. Refuse and set a bounty on her (50,000) and you end up with the very prestigious slave.

      3&4) Good to know.

      NEW! Does anyone know if sending prestigious slaves to the club would boost the rep or is it better to keep them in the main area?

      As for the coding, have you seen the coding for this game??? I uploaded it onto Twine out of curiosity and wow. WOW! That just made me what to turn and run. O_O There are so many passages and a FUCK ton of code! I didn't even realise FCDev was a beginner in code till I read some of the previous posts. Huge respect for the guy.
      While I was thinking of somehow adding a brothel to my story/game, I very much doubt I'd go into as much detail as FCDev has. I'll be looking at more tutorials which hopefully should get me going.

    3. I regularly go through the coding to learn how to play the game and look for bugs. It actually took me 2 months to figure out what was what amongst each of the passages, and I'm still disoriented whenever he adds a new one.

      As for your question about prestigious slaves and the club: Yes. They do boost your rep. So do Brothel slaves. Basically ANY slave with prestige boosts your rep, no matter WHERE you have her.

Right now I usually have a dairy with 10-15 cows with massive tits and a hugely muscular 18 year old with perfect health and max oral skills, so I typically immediately set advertisements to 3k right off the bat. I'll slap in a bunch of implants, max out their skills, give them a perfect DJ, and just let the rep fly in. I honestly only build brothels as an afterthought because dairy + pastoralism is just soooo much money for soooo little time/money/effort compared to training whores. I have zero interest in lactation, all I care about is the cold hard credits it dumps in my treasury.

There are a lot of consistency errors with that entire section of "SA whore" AND "SA serve the public", like it mentioning that "Her disgust with women hinders her, though she is enthusiastic with female customers/citizens." and "Her sexual indifference to women hinders her, though she is enthusiastic with female customers/citizens."

  7. Some of the facilities seem to be more trouble to use then needed. Mainly the Cell, Spa, and School. Simple having the facilities could provide thier effects over time instead of sending them to the facilities manually. Destination Facilities where they finally end up could stay the same but sending slaves to the Spa every couple weeks then having to re-asign their job after adds more work then needed.

    Another factor is how much money is needed at the start limiting play options to max out profits or bulk buying tons of slaves. It seems gameplay is more play how you have to then play how you want to.

  8. Jobflow : basic training, vocational training, specialized training, serve as workforce for buildings maintenance. You cannot make fucktoys without dominatrix handling the prison, or an arcade manager, you either have them as slave or hire generic ones at cost. You need maids to function, food and hormones to functions, get hormones from the sows or the tentaclesslaves various monstergirls, etc food from chicks, cows sexfluids etc

    Get scientists and witches to curse slaves into beasts and monsters or develop buildings.

    Also, gloryholes arent as degrading as you make it sound, it protect the anonymity, public, gangbang, watersport, pain, etc are degrading.

      No need for scientists to upgrade buildings as you, the owner, does that. Plus, I'd imagine that adding a research tree to the game would take too much time and mind-boggling amount of code.

  9. Got a bug with the $slavename issue. From Version 6.6.1

    $subSlave.slaveName is on lunch duty today. That means that as you eat your working lunch, she sits on the edge of your desk right next to you, so that her nipples are conveniently at mouth height. Whenever you feel thirsty, you lean over and take some of her creamy, slightly vanilla-toned milk straight from the source. Every time you do, she shudders convulsively, Error: <>: bad conditional expression in <> clause: Cannot read property 'voice' of undefined Though you never touch anything but her nipples, she climaxes twice. After you finish and she leaves, you notice 'Creamy' Sonya at the door to your office. You call her in.

    'Creamy' Sonya hesitates before explaining herself, and she's obviously aroused: her large clit is visibly engorged. It seems she passed by while you were drinking from $boobsName and found the sight rather compelling. It should be possible to either encourage this fascination or steer her away from it for now.

      The problem is in "RE boobs interest" it calls for "$subSlave" which is used in the submissive interest event. And I think, emphasis on the think, that "$boobsName" is supposed to be "$boobsID", but I'm not sure.

      There are similar errors in "RE masochist interest", "RE pregnancy interest", "RE buttslut interest", "RE cumslut interest", and "RE humiliation interest". (Literally, the only one that works right is "RE submissive interest")

  12. There's a bug with the birthdays event, I have a custom slave I made at the game start with the intent of making my bodyguard, and I generated her at age 18. I would have her in position as my bodyguard for a week or two and the birthday event would fire, and taking the showing her a new way of celebrating option causes her to instantly turn 40.

  13. I know hormones are a drug and all, but could we perhaps get an ability or expansion to our pharmaceutical fabricator to keep them from damaging our slaves health? I get awful annoyed when I find out my sissies and shemales are losing health because I'm giving them the treatments they need to be more feminine. While I'm on the subject, the Trap school slaves tend to deteriorate in health quickly. It's also come to mind that I'm just not doing what I need to do to get rid of those health hits.

    1. If you're willing to limit yourself to losing a FS credit and the ability to have implanted slaves, you could use the Body Purist FS and pass it's law. It basically does the same thing as taking them off the drugs because of that invisible "chem" score added in 0.6.2, which is what causes the health hits to happen.

  14. A few comments from the new version.

    The new sexual orientation displays for custom slaves you make at the beginning, but no one else. You seem to keep discovering this over and over instead. Seems a bug.

    The fetishes of slaves are waaaay too fluid. I had myself a nice, sadistic slave I was training to manage the cellblock. Just as they were almost ready, they switched to being a submissive for no apparent reason! I had other (less frustrating) examples happen constantly. No one's fetishes change dramatically without any apparent reason. I would imagine it should take the player explicitly pushing them towards something to cause a change.

    I really do not like the extreme weather damage/heavy cladding mechanic. Either you buy an expensive upgrade that reduces reputation, or you end up constantly forking over all you week's income on repairs. Considering that income is essentially the whole objective of the game, that is a pure punishment mechanic!

    Just a small suggestion too. I decided to try an Australian arcology with only continental slaves. This means all slaves are either Australian or New Zealanders. I would suggest adding at least parts of South-East Asia and/or the Pacific Islands (if any of those island nations exist in the game). Indonesia is closer to Australia than New Zealand is, for example. The names for Australian and New Zealand slaves are freaking weird too: I have never met anyone with *any* of those names :P

    2. Just don't buy it in the beginning and keep note of what your arcology say in the week report after the slave report. (The page with the stats on rep and prosperity and the corporation) Then as soon as they get concerned about the fact that you haven't invested in it, BUY IT! They are grateful and you get a rep boost.

    5. I think a better "benefit" for the terrible weather would be to just show the devastation of the old world and to have your archeology benefit from that. Instead of just a little descriptor on the economics page have the weather have it's own random event "slot" with events like: "The recent Ion Storm devastated a few nearby towns and a local farm was heavily damaged, the owner is selling his remaining stock cheap." Buy for a small money cost and a prosperity increase. Or may terrible weather occasionally provides your with enslavement opportunities. Refugees from devastated towns being rounded up, or even offering themselves (or their daughters) to you to save them from starving to death. I would love to see an event where after a devastating weather event your roll into a small religious town with humanitarian food supplies... all freshly milked this morning.

  15. I really like the more customization options at slave creation, it saves me a lot of time. But can you make it possible to set up relation of slaves at the slave customization? Setting up relationships like hate/love, sisters, twins or mothers and daughters. It would be hella lot easier for people with that kind of fetish.

  16. Another bug report. "SA chooses own job" calls for "$classroom gt 0" instead of "$schoolroom gt 0". It was present in earlier versions, but I finally figured out why none of my uneducated slaves ever go to the Schoolroom!

  20. It would be great if you could choose a fetish for the master if you want, at character creation. This would slightly impact the likelihood of slaves gaining that fetish themselves, based on their devotion.

    Also, I think it would be great to add an accessory slot or two for the slaves. This could satisfy any slave's clothing-based fetish (shibari for submissives, for instance), while allowing them to wear clothing in accordance to their position or the arcology's societal preference outfit. Or it could add minor influence to a girl to adopt a particular fetish. Some ideas for accessories:
    - leather restraints (for submissives)
    - spiked leather bracelets (for dommes)
    - nipple clamps (for masochists)
    - riding crop (for sadists)
    - a necklace that says 'BUTTSLUT' / 'CUMSLUT' / 'TOTAL SLUT' (for buttsluts / cumsluts / nymphos)
    - cow horn hairband (for breast fetish girls)
    - leash (for humiliation fetish girls, also good for petplay if added)
    - ballgag (for submissives, also forces no speech rule on for the girl)
    - bit gag (same as above, good for ponyplay if added later)
    - armbinder (for submissives or masochists, prevents masturbation events and ones having her dominate)

    You could add other accessory options that might appeal to some players but have no in-game effects, such as glasses, cat ears (great for pet play too), bandanna, head band, etc.

    If you do add petplay and ponygirl fetishes, appropriately tailed butt plugs should be added, too.

    1. All of the slave scenes about sex normally mentions that they clean themselves up. Unless it's a punishment and they lay in a pool of cum or drip from there. Actually, it makes sense for a future where slavery is legal and they've created tech to make it all cleaner than it normally is.

    2. Strongly agree with this suggestion. It certainly seems silly that all the pregnancy fetishist breeder slaves I have clean themselves unless I'm specifically impregnating them. There are several ways cum play could be added in, be it fetish, RA option as suggested, or an option for each slave, but I would love to see more cum content. At the end of the first week, the girls not under PA it said their minds rebounded from the devotion gains, and for two of them a rebound from trust gains as well. As soon as the new week started, those girls were at hatred and terrified.

    1. As far as I remember, "train slaves" was judged redundant and removed from the job list. It may still be present in the code, but only so that FC Dev can cannibalize the code if it becomes necessary.

      There's now a somewhat similar functionality with certain facility heads. A spa with less than 5 charges is will contract out for the extra spots, for example, and the attendant can make the owner a bit of cash this way. I believe the school and the cells work in the same fashion as well.

Also, love the game I keep coming back to it every time you do a new build. Capturing the other Free City owner is cool, but I was wondering if there will ever be any content past that? Even a "You have crushed your enemies the old worlds are falling and yet you and your slaves stand tall." Be nice to know that you hit the end and you are now more in sandbox mode.

  34. I don't know if this had been suggested or have you ever consider, adding an extra string field to the slave data, that keeps the name of an image file. like slave1.jpg

    That image can be player provided, and it will load in an image box at the individual slave description page. That image box can be a set dimension, it doesn't have to be big, it'll add in extra flavor to the game. And if the player doesn't provide an image or don't have a filename set for that slave, you just don't display it or load a default icon or something.

    1. That's easily solved. Just open up a text editor, locate the "Find" command or press Ctrl+F, type in "else)", and if it doesn't find the first from the top, click "Find Next", then delete the bracket.

  36. I think a major reason why people complain that there is no individuality in the slaves is that you very quickly get dozens of them, so they quickly cover the full range of options. I find that by the time I get past six or seven, I cannot remember which is which any more. This is especially true of all the ones you get as spoils of war. You get like 10 of these in a play through and they are all essentially the same: "oh, the only ones that hate me".

    Not sure if this is a bug or a misinterpretation on my side. In the game set-up, I keep the default "slaves are occasionally born male", but when I play most of the slaves end up being shemales/geldlings. Most of the slaves you get through events were originally male. I have had the same experience over multiple play-throughs, so it is not just random luck of the draw stuff.

      Slaves used to be good enough to just play with when they were more simple and having a lot of them just meant you were decadent.

      Now we have to balance slave interest with the pressure of everything wanting to kill you. They were fun before but now fun detracts from survival.

    2. I'd be content with a few unique slaves you could only acquire via certain events that had their own backstories and even their own event sequences as you trained them. Obviously this would be impossible to do with every slave, and thus it would really have to be just a few select characters.

I think another factor that inhibits slave individuality is the fact that all distinguishing factors among your slaves are either their origins (career, how acquired) which is static or purely sexual. I understand this is a porn game, but I think a couple of non-sexual descriptors would really help slaves pop and help distinguish between between girls. Quirks are close, I do enjoy my personal stable of comedians. But individual girls having or developing skills (if allowed) would really help to distinguish them. Artists, dancers, cooks, musicians, teachers, writers, slavery advocates, athletes, warriors, etc. Allowing girls to have/ pick up these skills would allow for a host of new interactions that would really help girls seem unique. Your young artist is showing promise, you could hold a gallery showing for her work as a random event. You can do nothing earning you nothing and costing nothing. You can hold the gallery and show off your property's talents, costing money and maybe earning her a small reputation boost. You could hold the show and auction a night with the artist earning you some money. Or you can hold the show and place her in stocks for the patrons to use, showing her no one actually cares for her art, just her holes. Lowering devotion and trust. These would all be cool little side things that would help you know what a girl does when her lips aren't sealed around your cock for some reason.

    4. The idea of slave-based skills is one i've been thinking about as well... An interesting way to take it would be a personally selectable slot akin to the body guard, recruiter, etc. Only this slot allows the girl to use her personal skill.

      A dancer to dancer for you, or a musician to play for you, and have various revivalisms change minor details... like changing between a classical dance and arabian belly dance... or changing guitar music to playing the koto for edo revivalism.

      Part of the problem i think, is that in the current effort, we're given more individual stats to track as a means of individuality. But with the number of slaves, it ends up being more of a spreadsheet of data, which actually LESSENS individuality.

      Another way i think we can increase individuality is to have more 'exclusive' scenes... as it is, it almost feels like any girl can get any scene (even though i know its not the case) so perhaps a more difficult curve on what does or does not make a girl eligible for a given scene is needed. Maybe even on a difficulty curve.. more common scenes are easier to meet requirements... while some scenes are so specific that only a very specific kind of slave can meet them.

      Anyway... just throwing ideas out there.

    5. Rather than personal servants (which I do like) I was thinking more of having girls give non-sexual performances. Have an enslaved pop idol and work to make her popular, then sell her virginity, or take it yourself; have a cook working in a small kitchen off the dairy offering samples of specialty recipes using your product, force an aspiring writer write a blog chronicling her descent into nymphomaniacal cumsluttery.

      But ultimately the quest for "individuality" is futile when you are talking about procedurally generated slaves. Ultimately you're just taking random traits and throwing them together. So unless FCAuthor creates individual content for specific slaves (like the captured nurse or the archology owner) slaves that feel very "unique" aren't going to really occur. My real hope with these non-sexual skills is to give slaves a little something extra other than what they are between the sheets. Something for a paternalistic society to crow about and for a degridationist society to crush. I just think it would be cool for my personal harem to be widely renowned artists and musicians that I send out on tour now and again, have a few slave teachers working in the orphanages indoctrinating the fresh meat, and even have a wing of my penthouse dedicated to a small team of slave scientists studying new ways to wring orgasms out of slaves, new drugs and aphrodisiacs, or new surgical procedures. Or alternatively for my degridationist society to force performers to perform in the whorehouse, deny the artist tools unless she draws self portraits of herself enjoying degrading treatments and then send her on tour where she has to tell everyone about her pieces and perform the depicted scenes with whoever asks. These kinds of events would really help to make my archology feel unique through the lens of my stable rather then make individual slaves unique.

    In this version, renown is visible as a value in the sidebar. However, renown gains are not properly rounded up or truncated. This leads to increasingly longer renown numbers - I'm looking at a 5098.974999999999 at the moment, for example.

    The fractions don't show up right away, but when they do, it happens during the weekly summary. The most likely culprit is the weather cladding upgrade and the citizens' reaction to its presence/absence during inclement (or calm) weather.

  44. SUGGESTION - "organic" Future Societies

    The fetish rework got me thinking about FS in similar terms. I think that the current "mandate" system should be supplemented by an "organic" component. The "law" that the owner is pursuing at the time would provide a rep-proportional weekly increase, modified by any spending on top, but in absence of a direction the arcology's preferences would be shaped by the tenants attempting to emulate the owner's tastes.

    This would obviously work best with "body type" FS, especially since the rep advancement framework is already there. The crucial difference would be that the "ticking up" happens for any and all relevant FS at once (and without reporting every little increase to the player, to reduce screen clutter).

    The reason I suggest this is because certain "body type" societies are effectively diametric opposites of one another. Having a society be able to organically slide back and forth along a scale of gender traditionalism/radicalism or slimness/stacking would feel more natural.

    Finally, another related suggestion. I think FS laws should not be one-time investments tied to rep, but rather have an upkeep based on how closely they align with the arcology's tastes. Enacting gender radicalism while most of the owner's slaves are female should take more effort to maintain and cause rep decrease due to tenant dissatisfaction. Enacting a law that matches existing preferences (based on the owner's slaves), on the other hand, should both prove more popular (+rep) and less costly.

    (Various revivalisms don't have an easy way to "naturally" build up rep. If you wanted to implement the above and include revivals as well, I would suggest opening the revivals' clothing options to all, and then boosting a revival's rep based on the number of slaves wearing the revival's clothes.)

  47. I have a suggestion for a malefactor random event. If the arcology has had laws passed, this event would involve a citizen that breaks this/these laws, and there would be choices for the player to make as to how to handle this person, with positive and negative effects. For example, paternalistic law breakers that are treated harshly would garner a devotion and trust boost from slaves, but have a slight impact on another variable (ex: if expelled from arcology, slight loss in prosperity). Likewise, being very lenient would have the opposite effect on your slaves, since it would seem to show that the good treatment of slaves is not really required, and a hit to reputation for failing to properly administer justice in regards to your own laws.
    Other future society options would be able to have vastly different situations and, of course, different choices. Milking? Someone has non-slave milk. Degredationist? Someone treated a slave like a human being (this would be one where enslavement may be an option). I'm not sure if all future society options would qualify, per se, as I have only really used a certain few, thus I don't know the effects of the associated laws.

    I have choose the start -> Clever social engineering -> Start with the first of three societal options unlocked.

    Then i get a second Option - fine.

    Now i have "Renown | celebrated 12883.287499999997" and the game tells me - i can choose a new direction. If im counting correct - and i can count with single numers - that would be the tird option.
    I choose one and i get "You have unlocked all four possible societal customizations."

    How i get the 4? And wich is it - no clue, ask for help.

    I play with the most actual version. But i get that bug also with the 0661 version.

    Is that normal that, after starting a new game(and not selecting the option that gives a free societal advance), I don't see ANYTHING about managing societal-stuff in the 'Manage Arcology' tab ?

    There's no even a line of text !
    The only ''sub-tabs'' visible are : Construction, Universal rules, Facilities, Penthouse Improvements, and Special Upgrades.

    Weeks have passed, reputation as grown... Nothing. It's like it was removed from the game, which is impossible !
    Was some absurd and unnecessary triggers set for it ? That would be... VERY unpleasant...

    -It seems that, again and again and again it will (when slave is healthy and still need bigger muscles) cycle between 'Healthy diet' and 'Muscle building diet'... as if the system couldn't decide which one was to prioritize (despite the obviously healthy state of the slave).

    -Even if the slave is set to be *Exempted* of the 'Automated Assistant', if 'Lactation surgery' is ON, it will still apply it to the *Exempted* slave during the weekly report... which is annoying to undo...

    1. In my experience it seems to be triggered when boobs grow overly large. IE when their health starts being affected by their inability to carry their breast's weight they have to start exercising.

      I suppose an alternative would be to give them a status effect similar to the limb amputations that marks them as not being able to stand/crawl under their own weight.

  59. Possible bugs.

    Slaves in facilities seem to constantly lose devotion, including the ones in Leadership positions. I have this for all facilities. If I take them out, they immediately start building it up again (even if still on the same job and nothing else changes).

    I also had one slave who, after years, never left the classroom. She just never became educated. There seemed to be no reason why she would not.

    For the first 7-8 weeks, I was able to gain reputation rather steadily, but now at week 9-10, I'm starting to lose **1000** Reputation per turn ! That's insane !

    Yes, I'm young + breasts + vagina... But before week 9-10(or so), I wasn't losing *1000* every week ?!
    If anything, my various slaves, concubine, etc... They seems to be all good and well, maybe even progressively better, yet I still get that massive and precise drop. Always *exactly* 1000.

    Important information is hidden in tons of spam. And to look up and change important things one often have to click to several pages.

    Sometimes important information is not accessible at all. I can't look up week report for specific slave when I get to management screen. And there is no way at all to see week report on slaves that are inside brothel etc.

Agreed, when the aphrodisiac were originally added to the whorehouse and arcade, they were suppose to be balanced to not kill the women in those location, because it's really hard to always check your brothel and pull women that are extremely unhealthy out and then let them rest/spa/curative. How about this fix?

    Take aphrodisiacs out of the brothel, and instead let the upgrade be something else that increases happiness. Flavor wise, drugged up whores kinda work but if I'm doing a patriarchal it really doesn't. Something else would fit better. The arcade, keep the aphrodisiacs because that sounds right, the girls are just holes that you keep drugged up. I honestly can't remember if the girls are also dying in the arcade, but if they are, a change that when you get the "sell as fuck doll" upgrade it also sells any girl about to die from the drugs.

  68. I think Female Hormone's effects on slave voices is bugged. In the last few releases of FC, Female Hormones have never risen the voices of my slaves. I can have a slave on intense FH for 20+ weeks in-game and there's no effect on voices.

  69. I have an idea for a new facility that would have a higher focus on the arcology's defense, that is, mercenaries. It could be called something as simple as "Barracks," and slaves assigned there would become the personal toys for the mercenaries there. However, the facility would also function as a bit of a management system for the mercenaries; the player could increase weekly upkeep by devoting funds to the facility, with these funds serving to supplement the already existing defense value that is used during the non-random arcology attack events. At this point in time, this variable is, as far as I can tell, not used for anything else, and as such, this facility would end up being a panic button of sorts for players that realize their poor decisions previously are going to give them a game over from said events; the solution is for the option to devote funds to appear only after the last arcology attack event. Of course, the variable is useless at that point, so there would necessarily have to be random events wherein the arcology's mercenaries are deployed. Something like "visitors were attacked and/or robbed by desperate Old-World criminals outside the arcology," and the mercenaries would be sent out to mop them up.
    Unfortunately, I don't have any experience coding yet; that said, I am working on a rough trial-by-fire-esque first attempt at creating the facility, but not any particular events. If anyone knows how to do these things and could give advice, or are interested in supplementing whatever coding-abomination I am likely to produce, I would appreciate it.

    That said, if FC Dev doesn't want it, then I'll just put the brakes in the idea. :P

  70. SUGGESTION - event to make use of the prestigious slaves' status

    I'm thinking of basically having the prestigious slave catch the owner's eye, at which point the owner can decide how to extract a gain out of her status. The options would be a) whore her out to elite clients for the week in return for cash; b) hold an "open house" on her holes for rep gain; c) maybe "loan" her to prospective business partners in order to sweeten deals and raise arcology prosperity.

    If the game tracked prestige sources, the events could reference how the slave gained her status. "Come see the amazing milk cow!" - "This former athlete's been hobbled for your pleasure!" - "How the mightly arcology owner has fallen!" - "This was the person who nearly doomed us all by sponsoring the Daughters of Liberty! But the Daughters have been annihilated, and now the former owner must face the consequences alone!" (or "Some say the Daughters lurk in the shadows to this day - but if so, why haven't they come back for their former ally? Only time will tell!")

    For example I have "not attracted to men, indifferent to women. Adores men." The last should have cancelled the first.

  72. My overall impression of how fetishes work now is pretty great. I feel it adds a lot more character and makes smart piercings a very worthwhile investment. Once all the kinks are worked out with hot they will interact with quirks, getting rid of the nympho dialog for every slave, among tons of other tiny things it will be amazing. This is a great idea.

    A suggestion for the nicknaming event have the ability to say what type of nickname you want for the slave be it ethnic, racial, body type, ect as a separate thing. I personally enjoy the national nicknames the most, and find it to be somewhat tedious to sit there and click and click and click until I get them. And then I have the chance to get one I already have so then I roll again.

    A suggestion for an event where rebellious slaves are trying to get out of their chastity belts or where run away slaves turn themselves in because they can't get their belts off safely, but they know your auto surgery, and/or technological knowhow can. While I'm on the belt subject can we get an upgrade for the belts so that your PA can keep your slaves on edge the whole time they are wearing them because I'm a sadist?

    On line 9828, I found a reputation bug for mature slaveowners:

    This line severely decreases $repDecay by -0.5 for mature slaves while there is no $FSMaturityPreferentialistLaw. Meanwhile if $FSMaturityPreferentialistLaw is 1, $repDecay will be modified -0.05. This makes $repDecay much slower for mature owners, making it trivial to become worshipped in terms of reputation.

    I'm guessing $repDecay is off by a decimal point. In that case mature slaveowners will have the same $repDecay with or without $FSMaturityPreferentialistLaw set to 1, so that will need to be fixed as well.

    $subSlave.slaveName gets inspected more regularly than your other slaves, since she's quite pregnant. Her pregnancy is progressing acceptably, but having her belly inspected gets her extremely eager to feel more of her master's seed in her fertile cunt. $pregnancyName has been a good girl, so you take her on the couch, spooning so that her heavy belly can rest comfortably as you languidly take her. You have your arms wrapped around her chest to cup both breasts, and she has her neck twisted back to kiss you.   80. SUGGESTION - an electronic collar linked to the arcology AI, capable of detecting and decoding throat muscle movements, and then either producing normal speech or whatever the AI or the owner set it to produce.

    I remember the old suggestion about making certain slaves only able to communicate with animal noises (meow, moo, bark), and another about restoring vocal cord function. I think an electronic collar linked to the arcology AI's formidable computers would be able to decode muscle movements in the throat and mouth, working on the same principles as subvocal microphones in certain near-future fiction settings, and therefore allow muted slaves to communicate normally.

    Because such a collar would require AI decoding to produce electronic speech, it could be used to produce whatever sounds the AI or the owner desires, regardless of what the slave wishes to say. Having to communicate with only an electronic "moo" would definitely not be enjoyable for disobedient slaves, but a devoted boobslut might actually like the owner better for doing this to her. Catgirl concubines lounging around in the master's suite and doggirl bodyguards might like such treatment as well. Additionally, as the AI could take over any such collar at a moment's notice, it could aid in the breaking of disobedient slaves (making them say the things they don't want to but should be saying).

    I don't think such an item should be available from the start of the game. Personally, I would either lock it behind the plot event that gives the AI control of smart piercings (and possibly the AI databanks arcology upgrade), or introduce a separate "workshop" facility where such technology (and/or any similar additions) could be researched for extra cash (the way the drug lab includes several formulas the owner needs to purchase after installing it).

    1. Actually they already have the subvocal microphone technology right this moment. It's been in use for special forces in the US, Germany, and Britain, and most likely a few others as well. It is even available for public purchase these days, though most likely considerably less advanced than what the military and government uses.

      As these microphones are set up to transmit, one could believe that it is transmitted directly to the AI, and filtered from there to external speakers in that particular room. The AI already monitors video and audio feed, it shouldn't be such a stretch she would monitor certain throat color audio transmissions relay the speech should you desire it.

      That scenario could also lead to more options such as only allowing certain noises as DrPill says, or even going so far as to only allow her voice to be heard when she's talking to you, thereby making you her only point of contact that she is able to speak without using hand gestures. Whether this would be a devotion loss or gain, or trust loss or gain could depend on a few different factors, certain flaws, quirks, current devotion or trust, and fetishes.

      On a similar note, the current technology level regarding prosthetic limbs is pretty advanced, enabling those who have lost limbs to walk again, to do simple tasks with their hands. One could infer that by the timeline of this world, such advances in that area would enable almost normal level of activities and range of motion. Restoring limbs to a slave who has earned it could result in a devotion or trust gain. Also with the ability to restore limbs, one could also just put in smaller or larger limbs as an alternative to the lengthening or shortening of bones, albeit at a much greater cost, and possibly as at a great devotion loss and trust loss, as one would have to be amputated first, and required to wait a certain amount of time before being healthy enough and healed enough to receive prosthetic limbs. As an added bonus, they could have a wireless intercept signal that your AI has access to which would enable her to forcefully bring a slave to her knees, or to walk her to your office, parade herself in public, masturbate herself - because what better way to punish by rape than by having the AI force her to rape herself? The options could be endless - which is probably also why you may not wish to code it in. But it is always an option in the future at some point one could imagine.

    Keeping with the theme of involuntary conditioning, I'd like the ability to dampen/restrict slaves' sex drives entirely. My menial slaves and servants don't need to be horny and distracted from working, so something like libido suppression injections (that gradually move the slave to indifferent towards woman and men, and a frigid sex drive) would be a nice addition, IMO.

    Or, actually, since you can't keep slaves on drugs while in facilities, maybe have it as a new smart piercing setting? I guess if a SP can condition a slave to be a cumslut (presumably by stimulating pleasure when doing it) it could just as easily prevent the slave from experiencing any sexual pleasure at all, which would in the long term cause their sex drive to atrophy?
