ALPHA 0.6.2: "Side Effects"


This update includes a couple of fairly invasive changes to the way players are able to control slaves' sex lives. I (obviously) think they're changes for the better, but as with all such changes I'm sure there will be dissenters. This area is going to see a lot more work, however, so if you're not satisfied with your control over when, who and how your slaves fuck in this version, be aware that I'm actively working on it.

On the subject of changes that may prove controversial, I've removed the upfront health penalties of the more powerful drugs and replaced them with a hidden stat that tracks the long-term damage done to a slave's body by drugs powerful enough to accelerate healing or cause rapid breast growth. In the short term, this makes drugs much more effective, since they have no upfront health cost. In the long term, however, players who make heavy use of growth hormones and the like will start to see minor, transitory conditions appear in slaves: headaches, heart arrhythmias, night terrors, that sort of thing. They're not mechanically different from the health penalties they replace, since their only impact is to chip away at health. But for slaves who spend most of the game on drugs, and especially if they're older, these will become common.

From a strictly mechanical perspective, this change probably makes the game easier, since these effects take a while to appear and rarely subtract more health than drugs used to. But I'm fine with that, because it's interesting. As I've mentioned before, I'll take interesting over mechanically balanced every time. If the game confronts players with an easier path whose price is the tiniest sliver of one's soul, so much the better. I actually considered and rejected this particular idea earlier in development. I've gotten enough feedback since then from players who seem to enjoy these facets of the game, however, that I decided to implement it after all.

As always, thanks to everyone who took the time to report bugs in 0.6.1. I've done my best to address the hundreds of bugs reported. Recent playtests have gone fairly well, but I'm sure several remain unfixed despite my efforts.

Hotfix 0.6.2.3 includes patches for most reported issues thus far, including the glory hole cash bug. If you have not started a new game with a fresh 0.6.2.3 download, please do not report bugs.

0.6.2 Changelog

Major additions:
  • Listing a slave for sale will generate a list of interested bidders. Bids will vary in value, and accepting certain bids will produce minor mental effects on other slaves.
  • Continued new game improvements, including two new PC customizations that give some choice regarding his or her backstory and skills, and a normalization function that awards one or more hardcoded slaves and/or cash at game start to reduce the impact of luck.
  • Seven new quirks: slaves can now be devout, liberated, gluttonous, repressed, shamefast, sexually idealistic, or sexually apathetic; these new quirks fit into the existing quirk system but all offer some unique behaviors as well.
  • The generic health impacts of most drugs have been replaced with a hidden system that tracks the long-term health impacts of using powerful drugs and can appear with a vengeance after long-term drug or hormone use. Going drug-free will slowly reverse the systemic effects of heavy pharmaceutical use. Youth and good health can reduce but will not eliminate these effects. Curatives are not exempt: they certainly cure immediate ills, but medication that powerful has side effects. Preventatives will not cause further drug damage but will also prevent effect reversal.
New events:
  • Three random events for fucktoys; master suite slaves are also eligible.
  • Two random events for rapey slaves enjoying rules that permit their little proclivities.
  • Random event in which your concubine can be allowed to go on an old world talk show without your supervision; she'll affect your reputation positively or negatively with a series of skill and attribute checks.
  • Five random events, one for each slave school, that offer the opportunity to improve the schools' approaches to slave training by endowing support for the new direction. Purchasing more slaves from each school increases the likelihood of that school's endowment event appearing.
Significant rebalancing:
  • Interactions between fetishes, quirks, and extremes of devotion and trust have been reworked and extended: quirks will appear more logically and more often, but will also naturally resolve themselves more frequently.
  • Severely reduced the likelihood of generic recruitment events to prevent reputable arcology owners from drowning in them.
Minor updates:
  • Better autosurgery settings.
  • Midsection descriptions; these are derived from numerous other stats, with weight and musculature most important.
  • Kitchen upgrade that forces slaves to suck off food-ejaculating dispenser phalli in order to eat. Many slaves will resent this, but it can cure slaves of oral reluctance and eventually inspire oral fetishes.
  • Upgrade to administer appropriate drugs via sodomy by a pharmaceutical-ejaculating fuckmachine. As with the food-ejaculating phalli, this has various mental effects. Will not be applied to anal virgins.
  • New universal rule that defines whether slaves are required to get consent before boning other slaves. Declaring open season will generally please devoted slaves and terrify unbroken ones, whereas requiring consent will build trust.
  • Removed the sapphic rule, since it conflicts with the universal consent rule. An effect similar to the old sapphic rule can be achieved with restrictive masturbation rules and no consent requirement.
  • Added many more circumstances in which unknown fetishes can be discovered organically; for example, training that involves repeated oral sex may reveal cumsluts.
  • Listing a slave for sale now requires a listing fee, to prevent abuse of the new slave sale options.
  • Huge plugs and dildoes now slightly increase fear in slaves with tight holes.
  • Reworked hair mechanics and descriptions.
  • Short shoe descriptions for more than 100 possible combinations of shoes and clothes.
  • Short hair descriptions for more than 100 possible combinations of hair and clothes.
  • Obedience requirements for admission to the Servants' Quarters reduced.
  • New choices for old events, including some based on player suggestions.
  • Many new or refined descriptions for niche combinations of physical attributes.
  • Continued revisions of old content to better reflect PC attributes.
  • Numerous code revisions for better performance.
  • Migrated to the latest versions of Twine (2.0.11) and Sugarcube 2 (2.3.1); both updates mostly patch bugs.
  • Bugfixes.

  9. Lactation Implants are not being applied from auto assist, also weight control and muscle control are not working. With no weight options selected it keeps forcing slaves to pump iron and will not correct weight issues (Too Skiny in my cases).

But I'm still dreaming of the game supporting slaves whose existences have been devoted completely to lactation, like passing some kind of point of no return where their breasts and massive lactation output immobilize them. Forcing them to become permanent milk cows for the rest of their lives and perhaps the constant stimulation to their excessively sensitive and massive breasts cause their intelligence to take some hits from the difficulty their minds would have processing the intense stimulation.

    Or I'd like a mechanic where to keep such a dedicated hyper breast, lactating cow alive, she'd need one or two slaves assigned to care for her specifically. Keeping her fed, washed, entertained, satisfied, growing. Repairing her special milking equipment.

  21. This may have already been covered, but is the current pregnancy system pretty much final? As in, children will always be sold? You won't ever get to have the product of your slaves (or even see them, outside of the general description when you use another slave to breed another)?

    It always seemed like an abrupt end there. Perhaps being able to build a child creche where you can use some sort of serum that makes children grow faster (not instantly, it would still take some time, and only until they are of age)? And maybe this serum would be difficult to synthesize, even to Archology owners (so that it's rare in lore, there aren't people growing faster everywhere). And this could be a way to balance just creating more slaves (need to put in resources, it's not free slaves). Plus if you keep children, you would be breaking the law if I recall, so there could be potential consequences there.

    It would also open more interactions between the mothers and children instead of the resigned selling to the orphanage.

    'Public Display' Pang is a horny bitch, and she isn't particularly picky about how she gets off.   30. BUG: Custom hair descriptions seem to be completely broken. When I attempt to set one it shows up as "Her short, black hair Her earlobes are conventionally pierced."

    Props for trying to improve the generic hair system, it was a tad bland... But I have to say that with the enormous array of hairstyles in the world, we are taking a big step backwards if we have to sacrifice custom hair descriptions for these few options.

I know this might sound like a quite major addition, but I would LOVE to see the personalities of individual slaves be more represented in the game, I know that a majority of people who play this game have a fetish for body modification, but I believe myself and a lot of others would also want to see the ability to slowly control and modify your slave's personalities to suit your tastes in a more detailed manner than just going from a lower devotion to a higher devotion, I would love to enslave a head-strong and confident female lawyer only to slowly meld her personality into someone who's extremely docile and completely unable to function without constant directions on what to do.

    Perhaps this could be introduced through a system of traits similar to the quirks that currently exist, randomly generated slaves would have traits given based on a combination of randomness and other factors such as occupation. Here's a few personality traits I would suggest having

    Very Confident
    Confident
    Unconfident
    Calm
    Aggressive
    Dilligent
    Lazy
    Perfectionist

    Personality traits would change the effects some of your actions have and would have an effect upon a slave's performance in the job they're assigned to, slaves with the 'Very Confident' trait would make much better Head Girls for instance.

    3. I'm doing what I can to add more character - see the added quirks in 0.6.2, for example. The trouble here is the dialog, though. Since slaves speak, there are hard limits on how much their characters can differ without invalidating a lot of what they say. An aggressive slave, for example, would have to have much of the dialog rewritten for her, since a lot of the whining and begging that's in the game now wouldn't work for her.

It seems to be that there are no mentions of a slave being on top (cowgirl) for male PCs, and female PCs can't ride cowgirl, even though this can be construed as a form of femdom. Personally, I would like to see slaves taking the active role as recievers for male players, and slaves "giving" to have a slightly more active role with female players. A female player character can still be dominant when getting fucked, since it is done on the command of the female dom. Of course, such scenes could logically only be available with a highly devoted slave, with the obvious potential dangers and impediments that go along with a hateful or rebellious slave.

      That's not to say that I don't find your idea interesting and worthwhile.

    3. If I had unlimited time to work on FC, I'd probably include these scenes. Since I don't, I find myself working on stuff that appeals. Since (as should be pretty obvious) my tastes run to top and dom content, this kind of thing always falls to the bottom of the priority list for me.

      I would definitely include well written and coded scenes like this, though, if the PC was still completely dominant. Adapting an existing scene is very easy, and trust me, it's a lot of fun. Submit away.

  43. We should have more things we can buy for the AI after the core upgrade. Things like more AI controlled rules for jobs like bodyguards and the other second tier jobs like cows. The rules should apply to the things a bodyguard needs for example muscles. It should have a default setting that could be overruled. Also it would be great if we could buy something that looks after slaves on drugs so they do not get the bad effects like headaches and tumors. Maybe the hormone kitchen upgrades could be moved to this aswell.

    Oh and we totally need a power armor upgrade(or other armors) for the bodyguard or the armory. With a slightly more expensive one that only changes its apperance to include a "Fullmetal bitch" sprayed on it. The "elite" version as it where, maybe with some requirements to have killed a certain ammount of slaves and attackers.

    Bugs:
    Bodyguards does not lose trust if you:
    1. send them to the pit(they can not protect you while they fight).
    2. send them to the pit while pregnant(any slave should attempt to murder you if you do this tbh, and the first event screen should warn you about it if nothing else).
    You can max a slaves devotion(and trust?) by spamming impregnation while they have a pregnancy fetish.
    Cows can not grow muscles while in the dairy even though the rules assistant clearly says they should.

  45. I'd like to request separate penis and testicular enhancements drugs. As it is right now If a player wants a specific combination of penis and testicle size on a slave they would have to juggle with female hormones and penis enhancements and hope that the random effects fall into their favour.

    I've meant to request this for some time now and the new side effects slaves can experience from drug abuse make this a bit more desirable I think.

  53. BUG: If the RA fearful clothing option is set AFTER the obedient clothing option, obedient clothing does not work.

    It's a bit hard to explain without just giving the steps, so here goes:
    Open RA menu.
    Set "Clothes when obedient and better" to "Select her own outfit". Displayed text changes from "No default setting" to "slave's choice".
    Go back to the main menu and activate the RA.
    Obedient slaves will change into defined outfit.
    Go into an obedient slave's menu and change their outfit to something else.
    Go into RA options menu and click any item on the "Clothes when fearful and worse" line. The text for "Clothes when obedient and better" will change to "choosing her own clothes".
    Go back to the main menu and activate the RA.
    Obedient slaves will not change clothes.

I understand that content involving a female (or shemale) PC getting penetrated is low on list but in the future do you think there could be more written content revolving around been seen as female in the new world? The male playthrough is a whole lot of fun and the fact that we can tweak the gender at all is nice, I just wish it differed in ways that weren't purely mechanical.

    I'd like to see a few writing changes like the pc trusting her bedslaves to go a bit further than the rest of her slaves, events and choices where some of the public may be more dismissive of her at first or business partners occasionally trying to get a little "extra." Things that involve the pc's rivals using her sex against her.

    In a crazy fantasy land that I know won't happen because you're probably far too busy and uninterested I'd even like to see her poor choices lead into sexual blackmail like being forced to wear the slutty business suit on a date with a rival or in a more extreme situation serve as a slutty maid in a masquerade ball.

    Would you even add stuff like that if it was given? I don't mind taking a crack at writing it at all and I might be able to learn twine in my free time although I'm less sure about that one. I actually have no slaves on curatives at the time, but I'm guessing proper behavior for this scenario is it not showing up at all rather than showing up briefly.

  63. I think something happens to sugarcube for update 6.2.3. After updating from 6.2.2 to 6.2.3 on my Galaxy I lost the ability to save in any of the web browsers. I now get this message:

    "Apologies! Your browser either lacks the capabilites required to support saves or has been disabled them, so saves have been disabled for this reason

    The former may, probably, be solved by upgrading your browser. The latter may be solved by loosening its security restrictions or, perhaps, by viewing the game via the HTTP protocol..."

  80. I was advised that I should share this on the blog, so here we go.

    I've played a fair bit of this now and I do have to say that it is phenomenally well designed and written. It's kinda like going back and playing slave maker again for the first time, but now I have much, much, higher standards now and I'm being blown away again. It really does feel like a Paradox style slave management game with you both building up your personal slaves as well as the entire city. Most of my complaints or concerns I feel are mostly born from incomplete parts of the game or certain aspects of it being mandatory. For example, it feels like you have very few ways to have slaves become obedient to you and there is hardly anything you can have them do while they're disobedient. You either deprive them of everything, terrify them, and then make their lives miserable until they're accepting of slavery, or else resort to forcibly altering their minds. Doing pretty much anything else just makes them more resistant to you and if they aren't afraid of you then they gain resistance automatically.

    The one big thing in the game's design that I think is currently missing is having an ultimate goal that you're working towards, that or I haven't played far enough in the game to unlock it. For the moment I will simply assume that there isn't one for this discussion. I think that when you first start the game one of the things that you should be able to choose is what your character's ultimate goal is, which then alters the story and part of your upgrade set. This then gives you something to achieve, letting the game be won or lost. Of course, a sandbox mode also makes sense to include, where you don't have to worry about a main goal or about losing.

    Some ideas as to what your goal might be and how you'd go about achieving it:

    -Become the ruler of your own private country: It isn't enough to be the ruler of an Arcology, you want to rule over an entire country. Gradually expand the influence of your free city further and further out, starting with a town that surrounds the city, building up the nearby land's infrastructure, establishing colonies farther and farther out, and eventually being recognized as a country by the remaining powers in the world.

    -Create an economy without slavery: For you, slavery is a necessary evil during this dark time. You want to find a way to build a new economy that doesn't need to rely on slaves to keep its currency strong. Maybe you use improved automation technology or maybe you use advanced surgery and genetics, but somehow you manage to create a society that doesn't have slavery anymore. The new AI or altered human race might cause problems in the future, but at least the current day's main problem is gone.

    -Leave Earth behind: Human society on Earth is beyond salvaging, it's time to seek a new home elsewhere. By pursuing aggressive scientific research and your own space program, you will eventually convert your Arcology into a colony ship with the intention of finding a new world to call home.

    -Weather the storm: The time of current human civilization is coming to an end, you've seen the writing on the wall and know that soon there will be nothing else left. You intend to be the exception. Rather than try to solve the current crisis or escape from it, you will make it through standing tall at the end. To accomplish this, you must become more and more self-sufficient and more resistant to outside dangers as the world falls further and further while becoming more and more dangerous. Eventually there will be no outside services left and you will be on your own against a deadly environment and a multitude of scavengers. When the dust settles, you win by still being alive and having a society that's likely to persist.

This can be tracked by checking how much the player's money changed after the slave results, added to the rent income, and checking how much the player's money changed after all the random events finish.

    1. You gain a title for your progression in each Future Society (except Slimness Enthusiasm, I think?), three levels of it per society. The former levels are replaced by the higher ones. You gain Pharmacologos for owning a pharmaceutical fabricator. You gain titles for defending the city against the old world rabble first, the daughters later (also come in two levels, depending on how well you do). There's also a title for your number of slaves, your level of reputation and the status of your corporation. 'Tyrant of the Immortals' is a title you gain for your mercenary force, there's one title for each of them. You get 'Tyrant of the Immortals' if you run a degradationist society and upgrade your mercs to Immortals.

      Lastly, you gain a title for having 15 slaves in the brothel, club, arcade, dairy, collection facility, servant's quarter, school room and bath.

      I really wish there would be a title for a well-stocked Master Suite ...

    I don't know if other people share this view, or I am in some hopeless minority, but I want to
    feel something is going on in the background (that occasionally leaks into the foreground), and currently the game seems kinda static after you enslave the other arcology owner.

    I feel two-handed events make the game world appear more alive, and if they are sufficiently broken apart they don't inhibit pure spreadsheet fetishism.

    3. With the inclusion of additional quirks, more descriptive attire/appearances, and bidder options this game feels much more dynamic, and just great. I never liked training out quirks and the additional ones add even more personality (ex. scene w/ bitchy devoted slaves! Cool!) And now I feel better about selling slaves that "love" me. thankyouthankyouthankyou.

      Notes: I play a female and some scenes still refer to my PC as male. sure you know this already, but it's still odd.

      My 2 cents: I'd still play w/o these, but if it suits you:
      - harnesses or collars w/ leashes. I use the uncomfortable leather' to imagine this, but legit animal-like collars or the like seem cute to me.
      - pet play. not furry-like play. nothing intensive. The gelded slaves mention this and I thought it was a nice idea to slightly expand on. Like maybe subs would like wearing said collars/leashes/tail plugs, commanded to only speak in meows or woofs, idk. I wasnt thinking anything too complex; a mere mention of in the description or weekly wrap-ups is good enough for me.
      - option to amputate only arms or only legs. Especially just legs.

I know that this is probably not going to be the most popular idea, but with the increasing causes of death for slaves in the game, I think the player should get to decide what to do with a dead slave. When they die, they just disappear, but that seems too simple. With options as to how the body will be handled, killing slaves could become another one of those soul-selling points. For example, the body could be treated nicely, with a small fee but a devotion and/or trust bonus; another option is to sell it for research, with the opposite effect. The fucked up options I thought of are to either have the corpse stuffed to keep the slave around and visible, with significant effects on slaves with low devotion, including a chance to mindbreak from the horror of the prospect, or to simply throw it away (going the soylent green route is also an option, but I find that to be more over-the-top than anything else). There *could* be reputation effects for each option. Also, I guess it *could* be possible to transplant some of the deceased slaves' tissues to living slaves, such as dicks, breast tissue, butt tissue, etc. (also with a significant effect on the recipient and a reaction from the donor's family members, lover, etc., and low-devotion slaves).

    1. There IS a bit of news ingame about cannibalism and how it is formulated it seems that nobody would say anything outright against direct cannibalism (directly process the slave to food) other than it beeing decadent (killing a slave just to eat them).

      So I could imagine that if you run a degradist society you would get a rep BOOST if you process (dead)slaves into food...
      Maybe implement a Restaurant in which slaves work as waitresses/cook (the cook would be a leadership position) in which you serve food to the people in the arcology.
      Depending on the society you could uprade it to serve soylentgreen or directly cooked slave (cooking only of already dead slaves/offering processing of already dead slaves). And if you run degradation society you could even apoint a (living!)slave for beeing turned into meals (also offering to process living slaves for owners)

    Quasi-Bug:If the slave has large enough breasts the schoolgirl top doesn't cover them at all, but if their nipples are pierced you also get a message saying that they're tantalizingly visible under the fabric.

    Suggestion:'ask about their feelings' when the slave is less than obedient is rather sparse. Perhaps if they're not too terrified you can do a reverse of when they're obedient and better? Say instead of liking all the changes they list what they hate the most (and possibly mention the dildos used to feed/inject them, which are awesome btw, thanks for adding those in!)

    And a question:What exactly are the parameters to get the enslave a relative event? Just keeping one slave forever doesn't seem to trigger it, even if they have a full permissions to do and wear whatever they want so there must be something I'm missing I think.

      1st you can watch the race(not participate)

      2nd choice you can agree to join the even and bet on your ponygirl to win (winning adds money)
      3rd you can agree to join and spend money to ensure your ponygirl wins a close race(winning gives your ponygirl/s a higher prestige status, up to "Highly Prestigious")

      types of Ponygirls:
      1. Practiced Ponygirl, Basic ponygirl training, can be taught by the Owner or trained using the Ponygirl Training option

    Acquired an "accepting" [7ish] slave (from the rebel nurse event) who turned out to be a pregnancy fetishist. Repeatedly used the "impregnate her" option on the slave's page to ensure she was with child, generating a devotion increase each time. Kept personal attention on her to remove "arrogant" quirk.

    Slave went from "accepting" all the way to "worshipful" - but I had seen that before and expected the weekly update to just bounce her back down. Weekly update showed the "this slave has gone to *devoted* status" sentence in green at the bottom of the slave's paragraph. On the next week's main screen, however, the slave remained at worshipful [20] rather than bouncing down to devoted [10ish].

    I don't know if the trust mechanics or the personal attention interfered with the "she's gained too much devotion this week" limiter, but it looks like the limiter did not get applied.

  106. It would be nice if the combat skill got a little love. Combat-trained rebellious slaves should be a security risk, for example. Maybe broaden the skill like the others are, into self-defence (skilled), capable fighter (experienced) and specialized training (master). Whores might learn the bare minimum to protect themselves from dangerous johns, regular fighters in your arena reach experienced level, and bodyguards as well as the survivors of lethal combat in your arena might reach the highest level.

    Possible events would be:
    -A rebellious slave took one of your pets hostage and makes demands. Will you have your drones taze her into submission (harming both), negotiate (you let her go, nobody is harmed, you catch her again, but you lose reputation), shoot her or, if you've got upgraded mercenaries, let them handle it (which would result in an injured and disillusioned abductor)?
    -After a john went too far, one of your whores broke his arm while defending herself. You could defend her actions in public (trust gain) or lend her to the john as compensation (damages health, increases fear).
    -A rivalry between two slaves escalates. Will you stop the fight, stop the fight and punish both, or observe the fight, praise the victor and buttfuck the loser?

  109. The way Head Girls modify their personal slaves might need an overhaul now that drugs have the effects that they do. Maybe only have specific fetish/society combinations go for the infinitely expanding tits, and those that do either use implants or lactation surgery. Everyone else would only use growth injections up to a certain point and then take her off drugs entirely.

    I actually tried opening up the game in Twine and making these changes myself, but changing anything made the game return an error after the end of the first week and then keep advancing time without ever returning to the main slave screen. The only area I touched was the "live with HG" section, but apparently that was enough to break the whole game. If this is something you're actually likely to do, I could give you what I've worked out so far to implement.

Found a exploit in the game, when u have an event with option to choose like enslaving or sell a new voluntary slave u can sell or enslave her and then dont click on continue but click on the random game information for the in-game wiki and click there on going back you can make the choice again as often as u like so u can sell countless times to get as much money u like and enslave all kinds of girls (the girls are always new randomized) without progressing in time. Tested it with the enslave or sell voluntary girl, will try it with the mother-Daughter/Sisters enslavement and with the criminal enslavement to check if u can also get high reputation by repeative going back and punishments

    Have Head Girl give new slaves a tour of the penthouse: On acquiring a new slave, have the HG give them a tour of the slave's facilities and bump into a random Devoted slave. HG instructs Devoted slave to tell her and the new slave what she thinks of her life as a slave and of the Master. Devoted slave's response inspires a Trust and/or Devotion gain in the new slave.

    Example: "The legalities completed, $Slave_Name stands before your desk, staring at the ground in fear. Now might be a good time to introduce her to life in your stable of sex slaves."
