ALPHA 0.8.5: Nominal Estimates


This update is fairly light on content, but will hopefully produce a more pleasant playing experience. Several contributors and I have been working on different areas to make the game faster, easier to play, and less buggy. As such, the changelog contains some items that will be of interest mostly to those who look at the code, since they'll have little impact on gameplay. I'd like to single out Bane70 for special thanks in this regard; he is doing optimization work with a high degree of expertise and meticulousness, and I'm afraid everyone who plays FC hereafter won't realize how important his contributions are, precisely because of how unobtrusively they improve things.

Download: DropboxMegaSaves from previous versions are incompatible, but 0.8+ saves are eligible for New Game Plus. Latest hotfix is 0.8.5.3 (1730 PST September 14), completely save compatible.

Optimization and other recoding
  • Menu optimization by Bane70.
  • Consolidated much existing event code for standardization and to stamp out several longstanding bugs.

Neighboring arcologies
  • Changes of government may cause abandonment of society models, with more mature models being likelier to survive.
  • The likelihood of cross-arcology future society spread is now affected by existing social alignment.
  • Revised neighbor descriptions for clarity, including a numerical approximation of their  prosperity.
  • Having an upgraded computer core will decrease the uncertainty of prosperity approximations.
  • The PC can target a single arcology for straightforward economic warfare, harming both arcologies' prosperity.
  • Opposed Paternalism and Degradationism will override the feelings of slaves traded across arcologies.
Clothes and accessories
  • Added a belly accessory slot.
  • Recast corsets as a belly accessory rather than an item of clothing.
  • Added extreme corsets, which will continue to have corsetage effects on all slaves who have not had surgical waist narrowing.
  • Integrated a contribution by Anonymous that adds sympathy bellies.
Other updates
  • Random event in which slaves wearing succubi costumes can be fed the PC's precious bodily essence.
  • Random event in which the personal assistant and a flirty slave can be told to get a room already.

    2. I'm not acheron but I seem to be receiving the same issue. I get a notification saying that her hormonal balance is feminine, but after a bunch of attempts I couldn't get any voice pitch shifts/narrower shoulders, etc. I'm not sure if other alterations like the slave becoming more trusting were occuring, though, I wasn't looking out for those.

  2. importing only 5 slaves per new game plus is painful. all that hard work, getting the best harem ever.. destroyed.. eviscerated.. dispersed into the digital ether..

    good work on this game though. very deep and has lots of systems to play with. could i suggest adding "targets" for things like breast and penis size in the rules assistant? would save a lot of micromanagement in terms of enhancement drugs for big groups of slaves.

    2. I find that it's less painful if I focus on creating a 5 girl lineup that helps expedite retraining my next harem. A combo of a good headgirl, teacher and wardeness are essential to rapidly training any harem and allows for you to bring any two other slaves with you to help build your rep and/or funds. It also helps to wait until you've broken and perfectly trained your rival since she'll easily out perform even a purpose built slave as a HG. I now turn my previous HGs into concubines on NG+.

      And yes. Targeted enhancements would be the shizznit XD

    3. It's very easy to edit the game to increase the limit; much less painful than choosing 5 slaves to import, I assure you.

      Though that makes it all the more painful when a new version that breaks NGP compatibility is introduced.

  4. I heard in a past /d/ thread that you're looking into changing the way Degradationism works and removing the intelligence focus. Were you also giving any consideration to changing Transformation Fetishism? I find it do be severely underpowered, and every poll seems to place it as one of the least used FS choices.

    I had the idea of converting it into a proper Bimbofication FS, one that would encourage the presence of heavily implanted dumb slaves without also demanding those slaves be abused. Once there's a stable 8.5 build, I'm probably going to try and mod the FS in myself and post it here so you can see exactly what I have in mind. Basically I'm just going to port over the intelligence stuff from Degradationism, remove the reputation penalty for unimplanted slaves (but not the beauty malus), and focus it on supporting the old-school playstyle of manually upgrading prostitutes where the Dairy and Arcade are secondary at best. The capstone law would *reverse* the normal penalty for unintelligent slaves whoring, turning it into a bonus equivalent to what smart slaves get normally.

    2. Slave milking is strong even without the FS, and passing the capstone law makes that small bonus a lot bigger. The Pastoralism of current versions has been subject to almost constant nerfs - it might be buffed up to the way it was before if the new Degradation strengthens the Arcade build and Bimbo FS or something else makes the "upgrading whores" build stronger.

    3. Making Transformation only for bimbofication is limiting it not making it stronger. Transformation has a strong synergy with Slimness in that you practically need it to keep hips narrow anymore with the rampant hormones. Also going pure bimbo takes away the synergy from Paternalism where you build a better race of slaves through modifications. If you are going to make a Bimbo FS make it a new one and please stop destroying the old FS's. It's bad enough that Pastoralism has been nuked into the ground.

It think a better option would be to implement a system to better synergize FS effects on each other, maybe even allowing certain FS combinations to become new, special FSs you can't get any other way like Degradation and Transformation becoming full Bimbofication, Pastoralism and Asset Expansionism becoming an actual Dairy FS that adds bonuses to the cows as well as their product, Physical Idealism and any Revivalist FS to create a themed Martial society that provides further bonuses to the Arcology's martial properties (cheaper and/or better mercs, citizens and slaves are also responsible for Arcology defence, bodyguard boosts, the security force mod would be easier to upgrade, have better recruitment have a bigger impact, you get the picture), etc. It's a logical progression that allows for more depth in the FS system that I'm sure everyone would love because it not only spares their favorite basic FSs from potentially unwanted changes, but also allows for them to be buffed later on. Give each synergism additional requirements like the FSs having to be maxed out, needing maxed or near maxed rep and a steep initial investment(I'm thinking 100k would do, considering the next part of my plan)as well as make each upgrade take twice as long and cost twice as much as a basic FS and it'll balance out pretty well.

    7. This is what I did so far on 8.5.2, but it replaces Transformation Fetishism and people don't actually seem to want that. When you do overhaul Degradation, I'm going to have another go at it and make the Bimbo FS as a full independent FS - unless you actually do plan to ever do the FS synergies.

    8. The idea of making FS sync up would be useful, especially if it could affect the 'decor' for various facilities, instead of having mix-and-match you could just kinda do it all.

  6. As a person who has seen a few bugs here in earlier builds, and the fact that I'm no programmer, just wanna send some thanks to the debuggers here for keeping the game as clean(in code, at least) as can be and to Dev for making such an engrossing game.

    Can we have a scheduled job where the slave is just made to orgasm by the PA for the duration of their work period during the week, to impact their devotion/hatred and trust/fear depending on how they feel about the PC at the time?

    3. Making so you can modify and add animal ears or even tails to slaves can probably be done, with tatoos taking care of the skin look.

      But centaurs and harpies is way out of line and requires adding too many assets (extra legs, converting arms into wings and all associated descriptions)

  13. i think something is wrong with custom slaves (a lot of "0" stats are generated) and milkmaid career bonuses (shoots up an error "Error: <>: bad evaluation: Cannot read property 'career' of undefined" at least as a dairy worker)

  14. I posted this for 0.8.4.4 before, but received no response, and so I'm posting it again here. I see nothing in the changelog that invalidates anything, and with a brief glance through the new version, all the points are still valid.


    A few suggestions for improvements that i would like to see.


    In the Rule Assistant;
    More granularity for accents. Right now it’s essentially ‘Do nothing, or Remove it.’ I’d like to see an option to ‘Suppress until Light accent.’
    The Skinny Diet should be named Thin.
    I haven’t tested this in a current version, but in the past Thin Diet would force Models up and out of the weight range. Shouldn’t the entire Thin range be Models if they have the appropriate hips/shoulders?

    The Autosurgery could use some work.
    Add an option to automatically remove implants.
    The Cosmetic surgeries cover a number of things. It should be split into separate options, like the rest of the RA.
    There should be an option for adjusting Hips/Shoulders. Preferably in a specific direction, or towards a specific goal.


    In the Main View, there should be some indication of just what the RA has done, to who, if anything/anyone. I’d suggest an additional line under the clothes, so it’s easy to access quickly.


    In the Remote Surgery;

    Shoulders and Hips are inconsistent with the rest, in that all other options show the current state, while these two only show if anything has been done so far. Like the rest, it should say what size they are currently.


    Regarding Character Descriptions;

    They are currently just a large wall of impenetrable text. Actually trying to get information out of it is cumbersome. You already have coloring for some things, but there needs to be more. Not different colors, necessarily, just one that isn’t white, on every word that is a statistic.

    On an attempt of reading through it; Voice, accent, career, weight, skin tone, lips, breasts, shoulders, butt, hips, pussy, dick, balls. There might be more, but if so I couldn’t see it because of swimming vision. It’s often better to just ignore it and click right into the Surgery. Information is much more accessible there. That, however, is not an option when you buy, something most people does quite a bit.

    On looking in the Surgery, the things I missed; Face, fertility, sight, race, teeth, calves, limbs. Not sure if all of them show up in white text, though.


    Lastly, a couple of questions;

    Is it deliberate that Head Girl careers are disabled during the creation process?
    Why is Shaved a hairstyle instead of a Hair Length?

    1. I don't believe Head Girl careers are disabled... the RNG is a cruel teases. And if shaved was a hair length, it would grow out quickly. As a hair style, it is maintained.

    2. Head Girl careers are not disabled. However, Head Girl careers only appears if the slave is an educated one. It will never appear if the slave is uneducated one. You can of course enter the career manually in More Customization Options or set her to Educated and then click Randomize Career until you get a Head Girl career and then set her to Uneducated. But if you create an uneducated slave and just hit Randomize Career, you will never get a Head Girl career.

    3. The RA as is already does report some things it does in the weekly report, like braces, and using dildo's/butt-plugs on virgins etc., clothing changes, and probably more. Also the RA is being worked on, as FC Author stated a few messages up.

      The last paragraph in the slaves description is dedicated to pussy, dick, balls, clit. The second to last has breasts, shoulders, butt, hips.
      Once I got used to where things are they are easily find-able. Though a bit of colour would not hurt like the face/beauty already has.

    5. Anon: That (probably) explains it. Don't remember is she was uneducated or not, but i pressed that randomization a couple of hundred times to be sure.

      Bane: I'm not referring to the Weekly Report, i'm referring to the Main View, the same week the changes are made, so things can be corrected if wrong, or if the player has other priorities. It might actually be better for this to be a list of all changes made to the person that are going to take affect, not just from the RA. It'd make it much easier to keep track of things.

      As for the description, the fact that you actually have to go looking for the information in that huge wall of text is the problem, especially if you're looking for something specific and have to go through dozen after dozen for it. There needs to be something that makes it more accessible. I mentioned above how i didn't notice things because my vision was swimming, and that's no exaggeration. I had to look away at least half a dozen times to let my eyes rest just to get through it at all. Not a good thing. At the very least, it needs to be broken up into more sentences, with linebreaks.

      FC Author: Very well, i just wanted to be sure. These are some things that i've been thinking about for a long time.

The weekly report is based off of the Main screen that it follows, and I sometimes save just before clicking end week just in case I overlooked something so that I can go back and fix it before it takes effect. Have you ever made changes in the RA then clicked on Apply default rules? That list can be quite long at times, just for a single slave not to mention all of them on the main screen. I personally don't use the RA for surgeries as they are for the most part undo-able once done. But then again I don't mind the extra clickin' to do things. I don't want everything being automated so all I end up doing is occasionally changing my personal attention and clicking end week. Not much fun in that.

      I had an eye surgery back in July and I still have a bit of a gas bubble in my eye so yes I know the feeling about having swimming eyes (I had a Detached Retina), also happens if I've been on my computer for too long of a period.

      Perhaps what you are asking for is something like a stats page? Maybe have a toggle to display just the stats instead of the description when clicking on a slaves name, but still have a link to the description, or vise versa.

Every time I use it, because I want to know what was done to who, and that’s the only way to get the information. I’d never automate it fully without a better way to see what it does. It’s a bit hopeless when you have more then just a couple to keep track of, though. I shouldn’t need to make a separate list in notepad just to see what it did this week. That’s why I suggest adding a line to the summaries on the main view. I don’t know how hard that would be, but it should be enough to remember the stats at the beginning of the week, and then displaying any planned changes. That would solve the problem nicely, and add quite a bit of convenience as well. Easy oversight is always nice.

      A stats page shouldn’t be necessary, but I see the use. Thing is though, it would have to work in all the buying scenarios, both the markets and all events. Well, if the descriptions were reworked so a link to it was available anytime, I guess. Not sure if that would be easier though.

      The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of a nice, clean stats page, without all the clutter.

    8. Yeah I agree it can get hard when you have more than a few slaves to keep track of. Hmm the current way things work with the RA is it runs every time you click something or return to main so anything that it placed text wise would be wiped out once you clicked on something. Even if it didn't run constantly the text would get wiped updating the summary txt of the slaves. I was gonna add code to stop it from running all the time and set a flag to tell it when it needed to run but the current ra runs fast enough that it wasn't needed (takes about 100 milliseconds).

      Yeah that was my thought after I posted the msg creating a toggle and links to it might be to much work as I'd have to add over 60 links to have to work with just the facilities and the main menu. So if FC Author would allow such a change I'd probably just add a link in the description part, and anywhere other descriptions would appear. There are at least three buy menus that give no description for some reason and I'd also not put one in (maybe a slave has not been generated as of yet to be displayed), then there are a few that seem to not be giving the full info. An again I would do the same. As for the Markets I'd probably go with what is already displayed and possibly anything the player would be able to see of the slave. Since he doesn't own the slave yet he might not have all the information as he would for his own slaves.

      I'm currently busy with something else, but if FC Author is willing to add a Stats page to the game I can put something together in a few days from now.

    9. The wall of text descriptions are the biggest deficiency in the game, IMHO. Kudos to you for looking into fixing it.

      It doesn't even have to be covering every stat, but what's important is that a player is able to tell the basic, most obvious characteristics. Is the character blond or brunette, black or white, busty or flat, fit or fat - all these things would be obvious about a real person in a split second, but with a game character you have to read two pages to find them out. This detracts from the experience immersion.

I know that the comment I'm going to be leaving are flavour text but can someone remove or replace "Clearly visible" with "Visible or completely visible"(Depending on the content) and for the mini skirt/dress to "super short micro mini skirt/dress"; and also "brief/so brief" to "skimpy"?. The reason I'm asking is that every time there is a new release I usually go and make the adjustment in the game plus I think it will give the game a nice little touch.

  19. Still seems like "editing" a slave with balls, even just looking stuff over, WILL move their balls internal, and nothing will be able to get them to go external, short of gelding (maybe).

    Sad to see that, as it is the only thing I can find that saddens me, too.

  22. Oversight: There is no way to stop the media hub from releasing porn of a slave other than using the RA. Not that there is much call for the option perhaps, but it is worth noting.

  25. Possible bug: Several of my cows have descriptions that read "Her nipples are in proportion with her breasts: they've grown bigger than her little girlcock." This is despite the fact that they are fully female and haven't had surgery to change them or anything. Also their clits are small enough to not warrant a mention in their description so it's not that.

  30. Bug - "D Slaves Database". Most if not all the girls are duplicated, and one copy lacks implant type. Those slaves also have customLabel: "", which means their description becomes e.g. "Amber () is a..."

  32. Found some issues on the slave generation for winning against the daughters. The problem is in the code below, the variable $seed is used in the function to generate the slave so it superseeds(supersedes bad pun i know :P) the value used to select the number of slaves. In this particular case the "for" will do one loop and $seed will become a string, so it will always create just one slave.

The simplest way to correct it would be doing something like below changing the variable, but it would have to be done in every place it happens i remember seeing this case at least twice. So maybe the best solution is to change the generate slave scripts and change the name of the variable there.

  33. Been playing for a while, but still consider myself rather new to the whole game.
    I've up to now refrained from getting my slaves pregnant, because I see no way how having a slave get pregnant and have a baby will help me or my archology get better.
    To me it doesn't look like once the slaves have born a baby, the baby wont ever come back to become a slave or help out the household in some other way, like being some sort of house maid, errand boy or whatnot.
    So, aside from the pregnant fetish in the game, is there any other reason for getting a slave pregnant either once or continuously?

  35. POSSIBLE BUG:
    What's the limit/max capacity for the Cellblock facility?

    I currently have two slaves in it. I purchased a new slave at Hateful/Terrified. There was no option to put her in it via the Cellblock page, so I advanced by one turn.

    On the next turn, she was at Very Hateful/Terrified and was still not selectable on the Cellblock page with her not showing up period and no "Send her to the Cellblock" option.

    1. That's working as intended and not about the capacity.

      You can't put terrified slaves in the cellblock, they need to be disobedient for that to work.
      A hateful/terrified slave doesn't trust or like you, but will obey.

    2. Thanks for clearing that up, but I do think that's a little strange.

      You can assign a slave to confinement at any time from the main slave page. Why shouldn't you be able to do the same with the facility specifically designed as an 'alternate confinement'. Regular confinement doesn't give my crazed wardeness any bitches to play with.

  36. Degradationism shouldn't disable the owner - slave marriage policy, infact, I think it should make it so that you can force slaves to marry you regardless of whether they're emotionally bonded to you or not.

  37. VERY VERY VERY MINOR "BUG"

    I enslaved a girl through an event, and, at the event right after (without coming back to the main page, that is), she was triggered for that one event she is at the brink of orgasm due to "[...] not getting off for several days while on the slave diet provided by the nutritional systems", which, naturally, seems weird, given I have just taken her in.

    I personally don't think it matters that much (you could say the enslavement was on a Monday and that event on a Saturday, for all I care), but it might be more troublesome with other events.

  38. One of my slaves suggested I buy her twin. When I did I saw they did not have the same age. I'm not sure, but suspect the new slave generator used the first slave's age at acquisition when it should have used her current age.

  41. I know there are events to recruit a slave's mother and sister - but how about recruiting their daughters? Any slave 36 or older (or a few years younger even, if you include teen pregnancies) might have a daughter that reaches maturity in a creche and be available for grabs...
