ALPHA 0.3.04


This update features one major addition: impregnation of slaves by other slaves. This single scene is an excellent example of why apparent progress has slowed as development continues. With so many possible combinations of the two slaves' stats that should feature in the scene, what will appear to be a few hundred words to the player is based on a selection from among thousands. As it is it's very likely there are major content oversights: let me know if you run across variations of this scene that don't make sense for your slaves.

By repeated popular request smart piercings should now 'lock in' fetishes in most cases.

Since summary information can now be collapsed, more information can be added to the summaries without breaking the main menu. Please let me know if there are any other items you'd like to see in the summaries.

0.3.04 Changelog:
  • New scene accessible from the individual menu of fertile slaves that enables the player to cause two biologically eligible slaves to reproduce.
  • Restricted use of the words "sterile" and "fertile" in descriptions to slaves with vaginas to avoid confusion with seminal sterility and fertility.*
  • Slaves with smart piercings set to their fetish should resist fetish changes.
  • Summaries now include age and shoes.

*If I had been told six months ago that I would ever write this sentence, I would not have believed it.

  1. Have you considered an option to have the player character be able to have their grown adult daughters as slaves? So that if a game could run long enough a slave owner could have a harem full of their grown up daughters. Maybe have slave ages increment as well. Tho such an endeavor might require re-coding alot of stuff. So I dunno how feasible an idea that second idea is. Maybe be able to marry your slaves as well. Tho I'm thinking you've probably considered all of this at one point or another.

    1. Yes! Growing up slaves is what this game needs. But that means they have to introduce somekind of a faster aging idea, who wants to wait years of ingame time, if that is even possible.

    2. well it is kinda possible if you should happen to acquire growing up slaves. If you get the pregnant slave and make her devoted or worship you after she gives birth i think about 2 or 3 in-game years the child is old enough to be enslaved which the mother recommends. THB i really don't know how long it really was in-game time but it was very quick when compared to reality. Though i think having a specialized vat grown slave would be a better alternative to say randomized daughters. After all we already get a vat grown slave why not allow us to make our own?

    3. Even without having them grow up the fact that slaves have value means the curent process of giving them away as soon as their born doesn't make sense since your giving away money. You could make it part of the existing infrastrucure with a nursery alongside the brothel dairy etc to produce more slaves stocked with existing slaves with useful genetic triats. Also a new drug type fertility drugs to increase yield and so on. You don't have to have them grow up just produce them for sale.

    4. As far as the growing and enslaving option, I'm just gonna paste what I've said elsewhere:

      Does the average player (or for that matter, do the *majority* of players) really play 18+ year long games? Not much point in coding for a feature ~5% of your audience will ever even see.

      I'd love for this to be a feature too, but I can't see it ever happening. Far too much work just to provide content for fringe cases.

      Now, as far as the "producing for sale" idea, that could be much more feasible - just replace the "giving them away" with a *sale* based on their mother's (or mothers') quality, body type, experience (a more experienced slave is more likely to be well-known), etc

    5. Slave breeding barely can be profitable due to some peculiarities of human anatomy which makes it too costly.

      I can only presume about some kind of special hormonal therapy which speeding up maturation, somewhat similar to modern livestock industry. However this seems not to be fitting game setting and unlikely will be approved by FC author.

    6. Honestly though, there's too little options in slave acquisition.

      It'd be nice to see a permanent option for 'Raiding' with specific settlements for specific types of slaves maybe (Gated off with a 'scanner' upgrade?)

      Also would be nice to see interactions with other slavers/arcologies. Perhaps with a trade off (sabotaging = increase in overall difficulty vs Helping = Initial costs for reduced overall) with sabotaging abilities to kidnap their loved ones / slaves

      Also the daughter option requires just a flavor text tbh with a vague explanation (unless he's REALLY just against the idea)
      ex) Orphanarium gives children growth hormones / apocalypse scenario promotes rapid maturation
      OR just removed the sexual option and keep the child as a 'free life' if you happen to die for some reason or another in the future or accessory piece to dump flavor text on (Increases slave upkeep - Slave cannot fall below resistant - Increased healing)

      You're forgetting FCA's "10-year" tech limit. I can't picture anything being developed in the next decade that could allow a human to go from infant to adult in the space of a a year or so (which is what would be required to make this work as a gameplay feature)

    8. As Bored Owner said, there is currently tech that allows you to rapidly grow livestock. Of course there's no desire in our society to use/experiment with that on Humans and thus it's not really known how it'll affect human, but the tech IS there, and if developed, could be adapted to human usage (most likely) within 10 years.

      To account for that, that's why if such a feature WOULD be added (which the FCA doesn't seem to care to do), you'd want to add 'mind fucked' for his theme's sake.

    9. The posters who have stated that this kind of thing won't be added are correct. I don't have any objection to the idea at all, it's just that it doesn't fit in FC. Doesn't fit the gameplay, doesn't fit the fluff, doesn't fit for balance, and worst, doesn't fit the code unless huge changes were made. Dev time is finite and there's inevitably going to be a lot of cool shit I just don't have time to make fit.

      That said, a game I'd really love to make some day is an in-depth slave breeding game with Mendellian genetics and traits and shit. I've got a design doc around here somewhere. I think I had the turns set at 3 months.

  2. I know it's an older feature, but I wanted to mention that the encyclopedia is awesome. I really enjoy its seasoning of lore with usable info on slaves and drugs, etc. More info on what the basic upgrades (drones, water filter) to your arcology actually does would be nice though, especially on hard mode.

  3. It appears you can get the sexuality change events (slave saw two other slaves having sex, bisexual) when you only have two slaves. Additionally, I started a new game and one of my slaves had Rules: Submissive, which I have never seen before. Unfortunately, I did not think to save for debugging before I changed it.

  4. Love the changes. I like how abuse can change a slave into a submissive. I think it would be cool to have submissives/masochists (perhaps a new fetish, or a next level submissive) be INTO abuse, like a buttslut is into anal. Also the game is still pretty easy and short. One thing that may make it longer is to dramatically up the price of high quality slaves. Like currently you hardly ever see a slave school slave over 15000, but I think the upper limit for a young, obedient, pretty, thin, healthy, no quirks slave should be like 50,000 or even more. That way the player has more incentive to keep playing and accumulating money.

    1. Oh and similar goes for the family members. They are meant to be expensive but they are often only 3-5000. IMO most of the "special" slaves should be far more expensive. Like something you really need to save up for.

    3. I typically play 3 to 4 year games, but I normally restart on every new patch. If there was the ability to enslave daughters though I'd defiantly play that long.

      Although He's said previously that this sort of content would not happen. I'd be happy just with raising my children in an orphanage in my arcology leaving sex aside.

    5. The other anon isn't referring to incest-that's already in the game with mother/daughter or paired sister slaves, who have special events related to them and even an extra minor use in their profiles where you use the two slaves together, with variations based on how broken in each girl is.

    6. Yeah, the incest doesn't factor into his reasons for not doing this - the problem is the tech level of the world he's made. He's clearly stated he's not going to include any technology that couldn't conceivably exist 10 years from now, and there's not a damn thing that could be done in that time (or possibly *ever*) to allow an infant to be matured to an adult over the course of a year or two. And that's just *physically* - rapid education and emotional maturation are an impossibility all their own. The "mind-fucked" approach the one anon mentioned is legally questionable - since the implication is the character has the mind of a child - so I couldn't see FCA taking that route even *if* the tech wasn't an issue.

      And without any sort of rapid aging, you wind up with the situation I described earlier - very, very few players are going to play 1000+ turn games, so having children grow in real time and eventually become enslavable would be a feature a tiny minority would ever even have a chance to make use of

    7. I'd be fine with normal aging and just having the kids there. Perhaps providing a happiness boost to your milfs, and an event or two where you decide whether or not to be a dick to your kid(s). I just want a way to care for my babies.

  8. The long term effect that makes crawling slaves submissive appears to be broken. Occasionally other slaves who haven't had their heels clipped will have the effect go off for them reverting them to normal sexuality. I haven't been able to reproduce it in debug mode intentionally yet, but it keeps popping up usually when I go around clipping the heels and muting multiple future dairy cows while their pregnant and have high devotion, I believe it only effects slave whose sexualities aren't nympho or mindbroken.

    The new slave breeding scene could also use flavor text for inbreeding slaves.

    So if I understand correctly the more customization options you get the more bloated the game gets?
    Maybe you could focus a bit on writing things independent of that,like new events,flavor text,the encyclopedia,etc

    It'd give us a lot of apparent progress and I assume it wouldn't bloat the game any further

  12. Just a suggestion, I think it would be cool with enough money/renown that we can transform/enslave other slave owners who have gone broke or tried to rip to many people off. and maybe be able to trick mercs, like the one that wants to by a slave off of you, into tranformation/slavery.

  16. I wanted to mention that the 'Hard' WORLD difficulty feels completely impossible. There doesn't seem to be a way to beat the 'bankruptcy' clock due to the 'bribes' cost that I don't understand?

    1. I've had some trouble with that too. What I've picked up so far:
      Personal Servants! Buy lots of cheap slaves and break them in to at least Fearful, then have them on permanent PS duty. If you can keep your slave maintenance cost at or close to 0 every week, it really helps.
      Milkmaids! Buy cheap slaves with natural D or DD breasts, use the remote surgery to give them milk drugs and set them on permanent dairy cow duty. You can make quite a nice profit even from a resistant girl being milked, and combined with personal servants to reduce maintenance costs they provide a decent profit. Getting the dairy building add-on helps too, since it will automatically bump them up in obedience and breast size to improve their earning potential.
      Settings! Specifically, the restrictive/permissive setting. I didn't realize initially that the basic cost of a slave is based on this setting, at 150 for restrictive and 450 for permissive/sapphic. Leave as many slaves as possible on restrictive, especially dairy cows and personal servants. Also keep drug use to a minimum, as even the cheapest drugs cost 150 on Hard mode.
      Keep the maintenance cost as close to 0 as possible, make money off of hordes of cowgirls and plan ahead. The option to upgrade security drone weapons hits at week 14, be ready.
      Also, it may be worth ignoring the actual arcology upgrades, save for security drones, until later. The cost versus how much extra rent money you make seems way off balance, so it might be worth ignoring until later.

    2. I've learned that there's little to no benefit to milk whores.

      They make less than actual whores and they can also get hurt(?). Usually breaking down slaves to whores than the plugs (which loosens them to decrease injury) seems to help

  17. Can you make it so that the Head Girl ignores your body guard when it comes to training, or give you the ability to pick whom she works on? It's annoying when she spends all her time trying to make your bodyguard into a good whore.

  18. I have a suggestion. You can train a slave to be a personal body guard. Why not be able to train multiple slaves into your own personal battle force to help defend the arcology against attacks and even have a new room added; the slave barracks?

  19. Would it be more or less complicated to divide out the 'buy slave' options more distinctly?

    Public Market = Only Old + Unattractive with Fearful
    Pre-Owned = Only Old + Unattractive/Attractive with Resistant/Rebellious
    Slave School = Young + Unattractive with Fearful
    Household = Truly Random with Extremely Rebellious
    +Maybe add a Raid Wasteland/Free City = Random + Extremely Rebellious (Maybe the cost won't be money but chance to lose soldier/bodyguard slave)

    The cost of slaves feel super random and I usually just hit decline a few times until I get young/attractive cause breaking them doesn't take that long anyways.

    1. The cost of slaves is actually quite non-random. What it is, though, is imbalanced. I'm looking at improving it by reducing the impact of devotion on cost.

  22. Can we get a method of checking the information screen of an individual slave while in the brothel/promenade/dairy/servants quarters location sub-menus? It gets slightly annoying to have to take them out of wherever you have placed them, then go back to main menu, check their info and make any changes and then place them back in. Especially if you are late in the game with a multitude of slaves and when some have the same name.

    I had this happen when I wanted to check to make sure that all 6 or so of my brothel slaves had my brand. I don't know if this would have had any effect but I just liked the notion. There are other instances as well when I can see it being handy.

    Maybe a view info button or keep the names tied to the info and have a place/remove button for each slave in each location.

    1. That's a tough one, but I'll look at it. The problem is that I never intended the game to be played with more than 10-15 slaves, maximum - idiotic, I know! So, a lot of the interface suffers with that many slaves.

    4. A manual sort would be ideal even if it was just moving one person up/down until you get your desired order. I think seniority sort would solve a number of issues though. You could probably game the name sort as well if it was a big issue since its pretty easy to rename.

    5. Does seniority mean how long you've had them? That's the one I really want. Another option could be sorting by job, so you can easily tell who and how many people are working on what.
