ALPHA v. 0.3.03


This update addresses several common requests that I could respond to quickly. Shoes, in particular, have been on the list for a long time. I'm not much for shoes and feet myself, so if there are other options you'd like to see in footwear, let me know.

With this addition to FC, "naked, barefoot, and pregnant" is now a possible combination. Nothing's associated with it yet, other than a rude special descriptor, but it's there.

Mindbroken status is intended to be permanent. If you catch a mindbroken slave acquiring a fetish and thus becoming un-mindbroken, please report it.

  • Shoes, and many small changes to scenes to describe them.
  • New version of an old random event easily converted for slaves with altered tendons.
  • The old cosmetic piercings have been broken out into separate eyebrow, nose and ear piercings.
  • UI refinements, including a new options page to prune unwanted descriptions.
  • Hormone effects should no longer push a slave out of girlish figure eligibility.
  • Bugfixes.

  1. Slaves acquired as amputees such as ones through the amputation choice for the whore malefactor event get the "Clip her Achilles tendons" option even though they don't have legs.

  2. After installing the pharmaceutical fabricator and going into its menu, you won't be able to go back to the main screen and be stuck in the manage arcology menu.

  3. Can you increase the number of slave related events after reaching 10 or something slave? Having only 1 after having around 40 seems weird

    1. I've experimented with this and it's very tough to get right. The problem is that it can be very annoying to have to get through 3-4 random events when you don't want to. The real problem here is that I get the impression that a lot of players are staying with games much longer than I originally intended. For whatever reason I spent most of the pre-alpha work assuming that people would top out around an hour of play and 20 slaves maximum.

    2. Duuude. My longest playthrough with a single version lasted some a few hours every day for three days. I stopped after I had reached week 800 or so. I think my final setup was 10-12 slaves each in Promenade, Dairy, and Servants. My three hermaphrodite slaves were working as trainers, I had a head girl and a bodyguard, and 3 fucktoys - one for each hole. I can't remember the number of slaves working in the Brothel, but I think it was more than 40.

      My lates playthrough yesterday lasted for four hour (v.3.0.2). I quick-played to see some random events, did no surgery, and put most of the Slaves into Servants' Quarters (almost 30 at the end, I think). That game reached around week 150 or so.

    3. Yeah, like...WHOA... I plaid this for hours yesterday, and planned to do so again today, when I noticed that you updated it. So yeah, people are playing this for a LONG time, and loving it!

      So more events would be awesome, I personally like the idea of having multiple events. Perhaps configurable somehow? (A screen where your Personal Assistant asks you how many things you want to deal with in a given week. That number allows you to set the max amount of events that can happen in a 'turn'.) The only problem I see with the various events is that it can cause problems if you have more than one event that requires cash, and you don't have enough cash...

      Another thing I love is the whole sibling/mother-daughter pairs you can get, great work!

      Also, I was gonna put this in a separate comment, but figured I would put it here. Could you incorporate pets that you can own into the game? For instance, a dog you can buy that can be used to help 'Break' slaves? I know that bestiality content isn't always popular, but it's a suggestion.

    5. I'm struggling to come up with a way to make event submissions work. The problem is that I am committed to maintaining tight authors' control of what goes into this game: I have a clear idea of what this world looks like. This would inevitably lead to many disappointed submittors whose ideas do not fit.

    6. The fact that few events will actually feature in the game is not a problem as long as you clearly state that beforehand. Also, it would help if you gave even a few rough lines on what your vision looks like.

    And here I was wondering if you'd noticed the few of us who suggested that... apparently I should have more faith :)

    Has nympho been made any less likely to override other fetishes yet? I know you'd talked about planning to do something about it, haven't noticed whether you've gotten around to it though

      Nympho has been dialed back, and it will probably be dialed back again. The core problem is that as a game goes longer and longer, the likelihood of getting it approaches 1, because there's a chance every turn. As I just noted in response to TheDefend, above, I was wrong about how long the average game of FC would run, so a lot of the mechanics aren't fitting the way a lot of players are playing as well as they could.

    2. The easy way to fix the issue IMO would probably just be to make it so that the smart piercing, if set to a fetish a slave already has, simply locks the girl on that fetish (or maybe have a separate "lock" mode, since pregnancy isn't on the piercing).

      Obviously that doesn't do anything to nerf nypho gain from a balance standpoint, but at least it helps with the whole customization aspect.

    3. @FC I'll be honest, this game is really simple. but at the same time really addicting.

      Thought some parts regarding the events might be better if it made into 4 categories
      1. Slave events
      2. World events
      3. Purchase events
      4. Public events

      You could always put all those 4 events into the same single page with a dropdown list on each of them. and a single submit button to process all of them at once. (I have no idea how hard it would be though). also, each of them should retain the previous choice since currently all the choice gave the same result(?)

  5. Any chance for a name/race overhaul? Some of the names like YuiHiAoi and RamoLiz don't appear to be actual names. Also the word receive is misspelled recieve in the slave long description.

    1. The names lists were converted rather crudely from Wikipedia; those are errors. I apparently have some sort of cognitive deficit that stops me spelling receive properly. Thanks, fixed: and let me know if you find other such errors.

    1. Hard mode is a response to many complaints that the game is too easy. It is meant to be played on normal (that's certainly how I play it). Hard will remain intentionally punishing.

  7. Slave can have only 1 fetish - is it intended or slave can get multiple fetishes, like "Buttslut and Cumslut"?
    It would be really great if with some extra work it will be possible to give slaves multiple fetishes.

    1. That one is not a bug, but one of the hard-coded slaves submitted during the original /d/ brainstorming thread. Someone always gets her as one of the starting slaves and posts about it on the blog.

      Maybe that slave should have a custom "origin history" on her slave page, something to the effect of "all of this slave's prior records, including name, have been erased"?

  10. Great work, hard to believe it's your first game.
    Do you think you could add more mini scenes for sex with your slaves from their info menu?

    Also some different personalities, nothing too complicated just common anime types. I.E. Tsundere, kuudere, yandere etc.
    I realize this would be difficult and time consuming but It would really add a lot.

    Is it just me or do my comments keep disappearing?

    1. Randomly generated different personalities traits would be very appealing. As it stands, slaves are defined by many factors, but while their physiology can be very different, the only difference in personality is either negative qualities like arrogance (more of that please), or their obedience level. I think having non-sexual personality traits would add to the variation and make the unique events more replayable. A few examples: curious, brave, prudish, eager to please, intelligent, dumb and/or bimbo, gentle, nice, serious, amusing, trickster, minxy, leader, ....Perhaps they could even trigger events somewhere down the line.

  11. Looking forward to trying the new version. With shoes, even! If you keep this up you'll end up adding everything I've been using custom descriptors for into the game 'officially'...

    While I'm here, some quick driveby thoughts:

    - Not sure if you're interested in more variety bonuses at the moment, but if you end up adding more a Shemale/Gelded bonus might be interesting. Right now there doesn't seem to be much difference between the two (as far as jobs/whoring goes, anyway).

    - Instead of the Head Girl simply training the top-most untrained slave in the list, let the player choose who she trains (similar to the Personal Attention option). All other mechanics the same, just being able to direct who gets trained first/prioritize a slave that's not at the top of the list would be a great change. Maybe with an option to bolster the target's health instead of teaching them skills?

    - Just speaking for myself, not sure how popular this would be, but I think an 'easy mode' option where you're given the choice of which slave(s) to start with would be nice. It can be identical to the doubtful economy start in all other respects for all I care, it would just be nice to not be tempted to reroll until you get the slave(s) you want.

    - It seems like the random recruitment/enslavement events are gated by your notoriety? I noticed last night that if you start a doubtful, single-slave game you literally cannot get offered events like RE Immigrant or RE Debtor until you've dug yourself out of Unknown reputation. It seems like an unnecessarily drastic crutch when you're already down by two slaves at the start, and even with branding giving rep now you'll be into week 10+ before you start seeing those events.

    - I tested the above with the cheat mode switch in arcology management after starting a game. Obviously using it that way doesn't give you a super-slave or all the money and upgrades like the start menu option does - but does it do anything else besides letting you choose which RE you get each week? I didn't notice any other changes while it was on.

    1. Start options are an ongoing project. Other than Miss Anne and a million credits, cheat mode's only effect is on random event selection.

  12. Just a thought, but are you planning to make it so that paired slaves (via the household liquidator or other sources) have a bit more to to set them apart from each other? I would love if you could get more shemale/female pairs than the one random event. Or maybe I've just been unlucky.

    1. If they use the same generation code as the Posh/Addict Mother-Daughter REs, they probably even all come with identical fetishes (the REs definitely do, I've been tracking them for a few days).

      Hell, the Posh RE still gives you permanently sterile female slaves 100% of the time.

  13. Can we get skill levels for being cleaning slaves? As well as a uniform for them assuming one has the servants quarters?

    2. Maids need more descriptions and events, true. The ones in the game already state that they wear a sort of maid uniform over their other clothing to perform maid-like duties.

  14. Had a case where a slave (with no history of sexual activity) was taken off of contraceptives and put on oral fucktoy duty, and she got pregnant the next turn. I tried duplicating this, this time having a similar slave with no previously tracked sexual history taken off contraceptives and put on the same oral task, only this time with a chastity belt. After roughly sixteen weeks, no pregnancy, but after removing the chastity belt, she got pregnant the very next turn.

    Not necessarily a bug (it wasn't stated that she swallowed it all, maybe she engaged in some semen play on the side), but it seemed interesting.

    1. I need to explain this better in game. Since a turn is a whole week, the game does assume that there's a fair amount of boning going on off-screen. If the player wishes to truly restrict a certain type of intercourse, that's what the chastity belt and such are for. Oral fucktoy duty without chastity, for example, is not a guarantee that there will be no PiV intercourse offscreen.

  16. Any plans to add the ability to remove a slave's *sight* by either temporary means (worn device) or permanent (removal of eyes, possibly replaced with ornamental stuff. This is not really an important thing to me but I just thought there was a 'hole' in the modification spectrum.

    As a completely separate thing the milk cow thing is a bit.. unimaginative in a way. Or perhaps it is a balance issue but I don't see why there could not be a 'job' where a slave gets both miled and fucked. Possibly a strain though especially if the slave is 'inexperienced' in either task.

    Also unless a cow is actually strapped in for milking she probably has time to do other things as well (unless it is perceived that selling the milk takes up all the rest of the time. But in longer term if development takes such a direction, cows could also do a lot more during days (or weeks).

    In addition to all this there's also the curiosity why amputation of both arms and legs is bundled up. For example some showpiece slaves should definitely be able to walk even if they don't 'need' arms. Also if a cow has no arms she must also entirely depend on others to get milked (although the same reliance could also be achieved if miling would require some kind of chemical to begin the actual release of milk out of the breasts). Some type of slaves could just have their legs removed to severely limit their mobility but they could still use their hands normally to do various jobs.
