This update takes a half step towards one of the few remaining items I think the game really needs before a 1.0 release: a viable alternative to the standard Worshipful/Trusting build. As I've mentioned several times in the past, here and on /d/, that alternative is Worshipful/Terrified. I intend that higher Devotion will remain almost universally good, but I'd like it to be viable to build this devotion on terror if the player so desires. I expect that this will require much more testing and adjustment, but the general balance picture of this update is that Worshipful/Trusting slaves tend to be harder and more expensive to train than the Worshipful/Terrified alternative, but offer ancillary benefits like Reputation bonuses and better performance in leadership roles.
Another gap in the devotion paradigm has been the rarity of interaction between slaves. Slaves talk to each other, or otherwise communicate. Keeping a penthouse full of extremely frightened or fanatically devoted slaves will now have an impact on wavering girls: it would be hard to live in such an atmosphere without feeling some sympathy with the prevailing feeling. This update also adds a generic plot event with minor but permanent effects on what slaves think of their life in slavery. I intend to add more of these, creating a strong cumulative effect in the late game.

BUG: Rules Assistant edit screen is hilariously bugged, referencing an unknown variable $currentRule and spouting errors about being unable to reference properties of 'undefined' for each setting.
ReplyDeleteI've been experiencing a bug where in random paraphilias disappear from girls character traits whenever they are applied. Within the week report, it reports they have a new parahilia, but next week it vanishes. This also occurs with the save editor, after saving an edit, the preview screen shows the paraphilia, but if you go back to the home arcology menu and return back to their preview screen, it has already vanished.

DeleteSimilar, maybe the same issue - I've been putting Breeding Obsessed Slaves in the Industrialized Dairy. The paraphilia disappears the next week, but taking them out, reapplying it, and putting them back in seems to make it stick.

ReplyDeleteThe hotfix actually doesn't fix anything. Until the next update comes out (hopefully with it fixed) you can fix the RA problem by opening up the html file in a text editor, looking for this line in "Init Rules:

DeleteI think, as a random anonymous, I suggested a fair while ago some form of bimbofication hypnosis for speech in a vain somewhat like the lisp or sign language, but obviously that is a lot of work, so it is completely understandable why that wouldn't occur. Obviously most aspects of the bimbo fetish are already covered in regards to the clothing, accessories and modifications already available.
Maybe some kind of recruitment event for a "bimbo" (obviously I don't like putting down peoples intelligence, as I don't think the human brain can be simplified like that, but that's just me, choice is completely fine), girl with the typical fetish appearance might be cool.
Some more content in regards to high heels might also be interesting, whether it be more flavour and description text, a way for girls to practice movement in them, a way to prevent heel damage, or even another event including them, who knows, might be fun.
It's obviously all your choice, great work on the game, you should be commended for the effort and detail you put in.
Well, it would be gated behind an FS or policy, so you wouldn't have to use it. Some policies and FS in the game basically exist to take an otherwise suboptimal strategy that people would choose for fetish reasons (all older/younger women, focusing on one type of sex over the others, impregnating your prostitutes) and adjust balance so the game doesn't punish you for fulfilling that fetish. Before intelligence was a stat in the game, I could add custom flavor text to my bimbo slaves talking about how dumb they were, but now that doesn't work because a couple lines above it they have a real intelligence stat.

This seems to be a problem with the schoolroom (and normal, non-schoolroom classes as well) trying to teach language skills. Poor language skills allow the slave to remain in the schoolroom, and since the education progress counter never resets, the "education finished, intelligence up" event keeps triggering.

As the block of code immediately prior ensures that if a slave still progressing towards a basic education overshoots 0.9, she's reset to it, so all slaves who are actually supposed to get an intelligence upgrade will be at exactly 0.9 when this code is run.
That's one of the hacks I tried. It didn't work.

yo, there seems to be a bug of sorts with the slave stock market thing, if you get enough money to buy max, say lovedolls, then a little extra, if you click max on another section, like menial slaves, you sell your current maxed stock and get the one you click maxed out for free, doesn't always work, but with some doing, i have replicated it 2 times in 2 different versions, didn't know where to put this, so here it is

How about combine those and make something like this:
For those with obsessively high devotion and trust and "em-bound" can be acquired a devotion paraphilia, that makes slave very productive and fanatical, but greatly reducing her value (since slave becomes mindbroken without player, so no skills/devotion/ect bonuses)
For those with high devotion and fear can be acquired another DP, that makes slave productive, but increases chances of acquairing mental/sexual flaws, health damaging*, rivalry with trusting slaves, enchanted fear of surgery, ect, and a veeeery good selling bonus (..she didn't hesitate during examination, moreover, she cooperated..)
*"..she had nightmares all night, so she couldn't sleep.." or "..she was so nervous during lunch, that she almost choke herself with her grub/meal" ect

I'm getting Nymphomaniacs in one turn, from an average sex drive or even frigid. Is there something broken with the sex drive values?

Ran into another issue with fetish strength. If I read the lines correctly, if fetish strength is below 5, you get the message that your slave has "lost all fetishes and is now sexually vanilla". The problem is that each step of gaining fetish strength only increases the fetish by 4, and the "becoming vanilla" line gets called before the clit piercing does, so you have to get lucky with events, I guess.

There seems to be an integer overflow in the game, every time I put several cows in the dairy with the lactation implants I get something like this:
ReplyDeleteThere are 3 cows in the Dairy. Fertile cows make you a small profit through contract pregnancies. The Dairy produced -62 liters of milk this week. The machines also managed to reclaim 13 liters of saleable vaginal secretions. These products sell for ¤-359.
It should not allow for negative milk production.
I've experienced the same bug, -500 liters of milk produced... how? o.O

ReplyDeleteYou should probably be more specific on how it doesn't work if you'd like someone to fix it. You know, detail exactly what transpired for you before and during the events you found out it doesn't work. That might help.

ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to slaves having a fetish, I think it's more of a personality vs. fetish. Perhaps I'm not describing what I'm thinking here. For example, I may want to have a headgirl who has a Dominant personality but has a fetish for oral sex, just like I could have a submissive slave who loves anal. There could be 3 levels, Submissive, Normal, and Dominant, and then there would be all the other fetishes with that.
Bug:
I've had custom-created slaves with the same age except they have different birthday weeks, but then they all experience their birthday in the same week.
Don't know if it was reported earlier but I've found the following bug.
ReplyDelete- Reputation value becomes 'unknown ($rep)'
- Happened after a 2nd future society attempt was quashed by influence from other 3 arcologies.
- Not sure if this is root cause, however that was when I noticed it.
- Game is still playable, however it seems reputation is no longer a gameplay element. :/
Bug:
ReplyDelete1. Create a rule that moves a slave to a facility.
2. Go to the individual slave screen for a slave eligible for the rule.
3. Manually apply the rules assistant to the slave.
4. Click Prev or Next.
OMG so many error messages.

DeleteJust some bugs I noticed with the recent release -
ReplyDeleteThe Dairy is broken. For some reason it can generate negative values costing you money.
Lip implants appear to be broken. I can keep upgrading them at the surgery and it does nothing.
Classes are broken. I've had slaves take classes and keep getting the intelligence boost every turn after supposedly "completing" the class. Amazing educational system there, wish we had one in real life like it ;)
Also a simple suggestion:
Replace the links in the buying slave dialogs with buttons. Clicking rapidly on links will often start highlighting text on Chrome (and maybe some other browsers), but this isn't a problem if it's a button.
suggestion for the fight pit event where we kill all time the slave who lost, are there a possibility to take the slave of the other competitors instead to take the money and reputation if we win ?

I'm still having issues in 0.9.1.4 with inducing Self Hating. Through personal attention I induced it in one slave twice but at the beginning of the next week it still wasn't there.

ReplyDeleteWith devoted/fearful now being a thing, we need (?) a couple of changes:
ReplyDelete1. Currently, frequency of flaw development seems to be related strictly to fear. Dev/Fear should have low or no flaw formation, by newFlawChance = (-Trust - Dev) or nFC = 1 / (-Trust * Dev). Otherwise the head girl gets permanently tied up fixing constantly-regenerating flaws on your devoted slaves.
2. The rules assistant needs to allow multiple conditions to be applied on a single rule. All disobedient slaves can be treated the same way, but with only one check allowed, you can't distinguish between Dev/Trust and Dev/Fear. (Alternatively, a priority system - i.e. Rule 1 takes precedence over all others = it's applied last, and therefore overwrites other settings - might work, although it'd be a little more confusing. I believe this exists right now, in that rules are applied in order of Rule 1 -> Rule 2 -> etc, but you can't rearrange the rule order so it's a bit of a pain in the ass.)
Also, I shoved a couple of slaves into an industrial dairy and for a while they were making negative milk, which sold for a loss. It probably didn't help that I was able to shunt non-lactating slaves into it as an on-enslavement option.
...Oh, and I can't figure out how to automatically send disobedient slaves to the Cellblock or have them confined. I'm pretty sure it's not a code issue, but it's not obvious how it works.
Ah, and one older issue - when unhealthy slaves are sufficiently healthy, you can't cut off the curatives with the RA. Just needs a "not applied" curative setting added to the interface.
