ALPHA 0.9.4: Big Pharma


Mindless, repetitive grind is my least favorite part of games. If I start every turn or every fight by buying the same supplies or casting the same spell, give me a way to automate that. This is my one serious issue with Jack o Nine Tails, which remains my personal favorite h-game. Playing JoNT well requires close attention and careful strategy, which is incredible, but reaching those gems requires the player to dig through a lot of dross. In between carefully weighed decisions, there's a lot of mindless hammering of the same buttons, over and over. Punish, train, reward, train, train, bath. Ad nauseam (or ad carpal tunnel).

I mention this because I haven't mentioned JoNT in a couple of months, making it time to do so, and because this update is focused on removing one of the major annoyances in Free Cities as far as pointless micromanagement. (Yes, I'm aware I'm as guilty as any.) Previously, rapid drug-induced expansion, required switching the slave between growth drugs and curatives to boost health if the slave wasn't resting and maintaining health that way. This update moves curatives to their own drug slot, making it possible to apply both drugs at once, and adds a slot for aphrodisiacs, allowing addict slaves access to the usual drug options.

I've made minor balance tweaks to the drugs, but for now, it does not seem overpowered to allow slaves access to simultaneous expansion, health maintenance, and aphrodisiacs. First of all, such a regime is extremely expensive, and will quickly make slaves receiving the full spectrum individually unprofitable unless they're already of premium quality. Second, the full spectrum builds drug toxicity very rapidly. Of course, that can be addressed by applying curatives on a permanent basis, which makes this a good time to repeat that remains my avowed goal to make amoral use of slaves' bodies an advantage in game terms.

Finally, it's apparently time for me to repeat that comments using racial slurs, making personal attacks, or otherwise failing to be worth anyone's time will be deleted. I can't watch this blog closely all the time, so if such comments appear, please report them to me. If your feelings suggest to you that my not making this a safe space for childish misbehavior somehow impinges on your rights, I'd like to invite you to take a flying fuck at a rolling donut. Pharmaceutical changes
  • Slaves now have three drug slots: preventatives and curatives; aphrodisiacs; and all other drugs.
  • Increased the impact of aphrodisiacs on generic sexual performance and reduced the health impact of extreme aphrodisiacs.
  • Broadened the range of aphrodisiacs' long-term effects, which are now generally similar to female hormone therapy.
  • Aphrodisiac addiction provides an additional path for strong fetishes to grow into paraphilias.
  • Reduced the direct health benefits of curatives, but added the existing effects of preventatives to curatives.
  • Aphrodisiacs and curatives both cause minor genome damage; slaves on a full spectrum of drugs now accumulate damage rapidly.
  • Preventatives and curatives now make genome damage effects less likely, but do not eliminate them.
Interslave relationship dynamics
  • Removed the preexisting flat Devotion and Trust bonuses for being in a relationship.
  • Slaves in a relationship will now move toward their partner's Devotion level, at a rate based on the relationship intensity and the difference in Devotion.
  • Slaves in a relationship who are afraid of the PC will be frightened for their partner, but be more obedient to protect them from punishment.
  • Slaves in a relationship who trust the PC will gain trust based on the intensity of the relationship.
  • Slaves with enslaved family members will receive mental effects based on their and their relation's attitudes towards slavery.
Other updates
  • Two random events written and coded by Princess April.
  • Updated the muscles stat to a 0 to 100 scale, making the step from ripped to extreme musculature much more difficult.
  • Added a set of six generic random events in which slaves can be punished for various minor sins.
  • Reduced the imbalanced libido gain from orgasm rewards.
  • Minor descriptive enhancements.
  • Recoding for better performance.

Yes, as a person who does feel very strongly about free speech and freedom of expression, I completely agree that on the net there are places that are purely the dominion of their architect and that it should completely remain that way. In other words, if you don't follow the rules you get banned. There are places that specialize in allowing for crass or offensive speech, people shouldn't just assume that that would be here because of the racial elements in the game.

    1. According to the blog archive, it's been almost a year. Drug side effects were changed from flat health damage to accumulating "genome damage". (which will cause health damage each week if it gets too high)
      The update happened March 7th 2016. The version was 0.6.2.

  4. This game just keeps getting better with each update. Thanks for that. One question, tho... I'm playing in a Free City where there are no originally male slaves. Yet whenever I ask one of my slaves how is she feeling, she says "I love slaves with dicks" or something like that. Is this supposed to happen or a bug on my part?

    Keep it up man/dude/woman/apache.

    2. Could be just my personal itch, but is there any chance of that sentence being put under a > if "biologically male slaves exist" line? If that's not too big of a problem. Other than that the game is awesome, lost half a fucking day and I have a exam to be studying. Oh well.

      PS. Will there be a way to give the slave the PC originally makes at the beginning even more attention? Or some more roles, like the Head Girl or Bodyguard, just something different? I originally intended to have that slave for my own personal use, but in the end she is just about any other slave, just custom-made.

      Would love to hear the author's opinion on this, if possible. Be it as it may, this game has more content than some AAA games nowadays.

  5. Quick question. Is there any way to prevent cum fetishests from becoming cum addicts? I don't have the phallic feeder upgrades nor are they on cum diets. But girls in my master suite and fucktoys keep developing addictions. Whenever they develop it it says that they "eat by sucking dick" which isn't true that I'm aware of. If there's no way to prevent it can we at least have cum addicts and anal addicts be satisfied in the master suite, because pulling them out every couple of months to give them treatment is annoying.

  7. BUG : Within a couple of turns, after the 'strip joint' close scene if you 'Offer to take them in ' your Rep will become $rep ( and stay there ), and the game will behave as if you had 0 or less rep.

    Also, It looks like maybe related to the RA / slaves, as as far as I can tell most of the time it happens when the RA is active and the slaves have dicks.

    1. AFAIK only on the Universal Rules page, but I'm not sure that's what you meant. In case you weren't aware, you have to turn on daily scanning and then you get an option for C-sections.

  12. INCONSISTENCY - custom slave "Riley" has "sold herself into slavery in an attempt to sate her incredible sex drive" as her origin, but doesn't seem to have hard-coded sex drive or M/F attraction values. Exploring her sexuality has revealed her as "XY—- [0] XX—- [0] SD [50]".

  17. BUG: The attack on the city event returns an error. For the record I have both a full platoon and upgraded drones. The error text is below:

The lights in your office changed to a harsh emergency scheme as soon as the attack became a certainty. Error: <>: <> must be the final clause at depictions of projectiles. Error: child tag <> was found outside of a call to its parent macro <> It's going well. Whoever's in command of the attackers sees that their fire is having no effect, and orders an advance. The mortars and other artillery systems maintain their fire, trying to occupy as many guns as possible.

    2. I think I know the cause of the bug, but since I don't have a save that's near that event, I can't test the fix. Can you provide the save or would you like to try to fix it yourself?

    Raisa is friends with Natasha. Raisa absorbs Error: <>: assignment operator found within <> clause (perhaps you meant to use an equality operator: ==, ===, eq, is), invalid: $slaves[$i].relationship = 1's love for you. Raisa cares for Natasha and is terrified of what you might do to her if either of them misbehave. She does her best to avoid that.

This game has become a button hell for me I don't know about anyone else but for me it takes about 1 hour or maybe more to do all beginning stuff with rules and other important stuff and most of time after I have done all that I have lost interest to play and forget all about this until next major update comes but maybe some day I will properly play this game again

  21. I have never used New Game Plus until recently and now I love it. I keep 5 of my favorite slaves, and it saves all my rules and all my option settings. Even if I didn't want to transfer any slaves and just start fresh with new slaves, NGP is what I'll do everytime. Great work.

  22. Slave Image mod NSFW 0.2 based on v0.9.4.1
    This mod takes the slave title and their race, displays a custom image of the slave on the main page as well as on the slave interact page. For example slavegirl white black asian, MILF white black asian, pregnant MILF white black asian, all have their own images representing the slave.

    The images are rendered with 3d models with different poses and different props. If you don't like any of those images you can always replace them with your own. There are current 912 possible combinations of slave titles and races. Because of the large size with 912 images, the file are in a zip format.

    1. Suggestion: the pictures are in png format. Why not convert it to jpeg? jpeg doesn't support transparency, but I don't think it's a necessary feature in this case. You can significantly reduce file size by accepting a lossy compression.

    2. That's the problem without transparency I would have to add a background into all the pictures. It would look weird merging with the text. But I might consider it if this mod ever gets integrated into the main game.

    Ever since last big rules assistant overhaul, the weight assistant seems to be having trouble. For example, if i set it to "thin", on some girls it works, on most of them, it keeps overshooting the target - it will underfeed them as far as emaciated and then switch to overfeed and keep doing that until they are overweight, and then it will switch to underfeed again and the cycle repeats.

    Feature request:
    Rather then having combined belts (and having bi-gendered slaves have overlapping "combined" setting) i suggest to split all accessories like this:
    vaginal: none / plug / big plug / huge plug / chastity
    anal: none / plug / big plug / huge plug / chastity
    penial: none / chastity

    That should be also easier to parse when looking up event elegibility and descriptions

Bug(?) and feature request: I haven't played the new version yet, but one thing that seems buggy is the girl you rescue is described as "dickgirl" but she has a pussy :x (probably because I have it set 100% dicks and that's how it interacts?) Maybe we could customize the rescue girl at the start, seeing as it seems to take a random slave you created and copy it except boobs, ass, and in this case genitals.

    Feature request: And one other thing is the option to change anal bleaching on starting slaves? It's not a huge deal unless I'm not using one slave as a template, then it becomes a pain to see one of them was bleached and start over.

    Minor stuff but they'd be great, and thanks for the game, my fap hand is still getting tired.

  30. Either my Rules Assist is set up wrong or it has a bug in it. It doesn't seem to recognize when Slaves hit Thin when I set it to automatically Thin them, and thus it forces them to lose weight until they are starving, then they fatten up until they are average. Then it repeats infinitely.

With the latest versions i've been unable to keep my marriages with my slaves, in the summary at the end of the week it says that the slave isn't as devoted or trusting as before, but most of the time they ended the week with devotion and trust gains so i'm a bit confused.   33. Not sure what the deal is, but making a devoted nympho in the starter screen is more expensive the older they get rather than the younger they get. I made a 26 year old to be my DJ and she ended up costing a shitload, I made a young one and she didn't. I know it's related to age because then I tried again with the lowest devotion levels and the younger one ended up costing 3000 credits with maxed sex skills, brilliance and beauty while the older one still cost more. Either it's a bug or milfs are in season.

    3. I had a similar bug when making a new slave. The slave was a buttslut, and whenever the strength of her fetish was any higher than low, the prices were exorbitant. Like, at low it was 4000 but it would change to 38500 at the next step. I used the refresh option and then it got a little more normal, 4000 to 22000. Also, adding a fetish didn't refresh the prices properly.

    2. Oof. Different anon here. There's an EXE you can get from google drive or mega from HF that I tried and lemme tell you that game is pretty hardcore stuff. You can sell people to be food and they have to converse with the guests before being fucked, butchered and eaten. Kind of a weird pit in my stomach right now, somewhere between disgust and fascination. Other than that and the loli shit it's basically just a mix between slavemaker 3 and Sim Brothel. Wish I knew how to disable the annoying gifs and have the original pictures though.

    1. That is the aftermath of the event. You can avoid it by rescuing the hostage early enough, but if not, then you deal with the aftermath. Get their devotion high enough and eventually they will obey you regarding the relationship.

  45. Quick Suggestion: Could we have the "Confine" assignment replaced with a "punishment" assignment with various effects? Have it linked to what we have selected for their punishment. Situation and confinement would work the same, regular beatings will increase fear much much faster at the cost of health, whereas continuous edging for a week would increase obedience faster at the cost of sex drive.

    Also, my cumsluts keep becoming cum addicts but the FCE says they have to be fed them cum for that and I'm not. Is that a bug?

    1. how do I get the hormone balancing kitchen upgrade? I'm looking under Manage Penthouse and I'm only able to buy one for nutrition/refine diets in real time. Am I missing something?

    2. is the only way to replace limbs to get the rep to buy those upgrades? A left behind slave is an amputee and I'm nowhere near the rep for that.

    3. will there be a way to edit the starting slaves the user already committed, at some point?

    4. would it be possible to make an auto surgery (rule assistant) option for vision correction?

    5. in one-two weeks of whoring 3 of my trapgirls swapped their fetish out for anal. is it meant to happen so frequently?

  50. Possible BUG: FS progression seems stuck at "believes strongly" I've had some FS development stuck at that level for over 50 turns now. I'm spending 5,000 a turn promoting it, I have all their policies and upgrades and have yet to get them to "believes implicitly."

  51. Possible exploit: If you have genomic damage on a slave, you can send her to the clinic with the upgrade to repair genomic damage. This allows you to repeatedly throw a slave in until either clean or they reach 100 health which you normally can't get to. You also can send slaves to the clinic this way when they aren't unhealthy which is nice, let you keep your milk producers generating well longer rather then having to wait for production to dip badly. Personally I appreciate being able to do this, but it is obvious this isn't how it's meant to be used given you loose this utility if you by the 500,000 drug upgrade that eliminates genomic damage.

  54. I'm having a bit of an issue with reputation when adopting Youth Preferentialism first. In a debug start it seems to counter the increased reputation loss properly, but not in regular gameplay. Perhaps because of the rival's counterpick and conflict, YP is stuck at "very enthusiastic" while the other futere society options are "agree strongly."

    Maybe the reputation bonus, once reached, could be permanent until YP decays to a certain level or is discarded?

  55. I've had a couple of instances of a really odd bug. A few weeks into a new game plus, the slave I created at the start of the game was replaced by an exact duplicate of one of the slaves I brought in with NG+

  56. Might we ever see more insight on fatter slaves? Stretch marks, perhaps. Larger sizes. Flabbier hips/butt/thighs/arms/whatever based on body fat %? It'd be neat. Probably not up your alley but eh.

  57. Two NG+ things:

    Would it be possible to make optional the overwriting of slave nationality when making a NG+ from a save using revivalism? For example, if I use Egyptian revivalism and start a NG+, all slaves I bring in will have their nationality overwritten with "Ancient Egyptian Revivalist". It removes some of the uniqueness of each slave and results in odd sentence like this: "She speaks Ancient Egyptian in a thick Ancient Egyptian Revivalist accent that can be hard to understand."

    Can you automatically switch carried-over slaves from "your wife" to "emotionally bonded" when making a NG+ from a save using paternalism? The rep hit makes it much harder to get the rep high enough to remove the rep hit.

  58. The autosurgery keeps resetting to remove all implants every turn. I have confirmed that the rule is saving, but once a turn is run the settings reset.

  59. When you give access to the organ farm to the futas they never seem to have had enough time to make its usage apparent and they always end up sterile even though they have ovaries.

    1. That's odd. The code for The Futanari Sisters should give some indication that you've given them access to the organ farm. A sort of acknowledgement immediately when you visit TFS slave market and after ten week, a different scene when you visit TFS slave market. If you're sure there's no change after ten weeks, let me know. I usually have dickgirls turned off when I play, but I can take a closer look at the code and help FC_Author a bit.

    2. the immediate acknowledgement text is there but even after 30 weeks since access was given, the different scene doesn't appear. If you buy a sister, they have ovaries but are sterile and you can restore their fertility by surgery but that doesn't make sense considering all the text seems to show them pregnant.

  61. Bug: Many of the 'Future Societies' specific Policies ( the ones in green at the bottom of he list ).
    Disappear totally if Implemented.
    They are not listed under 'Available policies ' or ' Active policies ', they are just gone.
    Also, it seems like the ones that have disappeared only get applied half the time.
    It other words, sometimes the policy disappears from the list, but the game acts like it was still there and applies it.
    Although, sometimes when a policy disappears the game acts like you where wasting you time, and changes nothing apart from removing the policy from the listing.

  62. I found what I think is a bug. I had paternalism and so I was letting my devoted slaves choose their own jobs. When they choose jobs that I had the proper facility for it would say they went to that facility but they don't actually go and I don't get any benefit from it.

  63. I was having issues with my slaves and their weights continuously bouncing from emaciated to fat and back. I then turned off Diet Support in my RA and that has helped greatly. Unless I'm mistaken, I believe there's a bug with the Diet Support. I'm still using version 9.3

    1. 9.2.1 had diet support bug too. I think it doesn't support growth but just makes slaves more fat. But i had a problem when even with diet support turned off - my slave still didn't keep the same weight. I wanted too keep girls nice and plush but all i ended up was overweighted cows *cries*

  64. Hm, where exactly do slaves pick up genome damage? Was there something changed about the code for that? Because I do have all the upgrades of the penthouse with the hospital expansion and whatnot - which I thought should prevent negative side effects of drugs. Despite this, the girls assigned to the club managed to rack up damage points while in there. Could it be that the positive effects of upgrades aren't applied to slaves inside one of the extra buildings?

Bug report: If you lose social progress on a future societies project (usually happens during the rivalry event) then the brothel can bug out and have money appear as ¤profit or something like that. I think it's because it's trying to apply future societies' multipliers but they no longer exist.

    1. Partly confirmed. Whenever I lose a future society project, then within the next couple of turns, my money turns into "¤cash" and the game treats me as being broke.
