ReplyDeleteThis is going to be a Paternalism-centric version of PC-slave marriage. (I may add other versions later, and if so, they'll be very different.) So, it will function as a direct upgrade to the Emotionally Bonded relationship status. You'll be able to have as many wives as you can get slaves to emotionally bond with you.

DeleteDuring my second or third playthrough, I decided to go degradationist and use the arcade extensively. I painstakingly removed the teeth and limbs of dozens of slaves before putting them in the arcade.

Curious, you lean into the one cell with an open door and are treated to the sight of 'Valkyrie' Michelle holding Umara's head betwen her legs, receiving what is very obviously non-consensual oral sex. 'Valkyrie' Michelle is clearly enjoying herself, but gathers herself together and greets you properly, without stopping.

ReplyDeleteStill think it'd be cool to have the ability to grant a max-loyalty HG (especially one you've married) her freedom and have her continue working for you by choice... I'd think it'd work fine mechanically (since nothing would really be changed, just maybe parts of her description), but as far as lore I don't know if that's something that would necessarily fit.
Also here's hoping female PCs might someday get the ability to be fucked *by* their wives :)
Really looking forward to the update. I'm kinda ambivalent about limiting the marriage status to one society option though. It seems that everyone will just pick that one by default.

ReplyDeleteI have an Egyptian Revivalist arcology and I staff it with married family pairs, mother/daughter, sisters, twins. But if I pair them too soon, the relationship freaks them out too much. Whereas if I wait, they bond with me before, and then there's no way to get them together that I can find.
Likewise, if a woman recommends a sibling or parent/daughter, it's already too late to get them together, because they're likely already bonded with me.
And I so far can't find a way to break that bond. When two get into a relationship on their own, there's a way to break them up. But I see no way to reject someone who bonded with you, or get them to bond with one person after they've gone the slut route.
Agreed entirely, it makes the Egyptian FS a pain in the ass - if nothing else, having the FS active should override the fear/hate gains
DeleteThere does appear to be a way to break the emotional bond: by reducing their trust level. Its happened a couple times to my slaves (though seemingly at random?) A manual option would still be great to have though.
DeleteI've reduced a pair that bonded on me to Resistant and Terrified and the bond persists. Had to do that by using the Arcade, which stretched them both out. Which ruined my plan to keep them for my Master Suite all to myself. But without the arcade, even abusing and confining wouldn't lower their trust at all, as they'd gain it faster than they lost it.

DeleteRegarding unwanted relationships, the way I found is the abuse option. Do it a few times to lower trust, breaks the bonding (to you). For unwanted relationship, rule forbid them a few turns from forming relationships (might have to exempt from Ruled Assistant). Once broken, shove them into a job only they work in. Usually works.

ReplyDeleteI've been playing this game from the beginning and there is only one thing that is bothering me : the lack of feedback about the girls in special buildings (Classroom, Brothel, Dairy, etc...). I like to read what is happening to my girls at the end of the week and if they are in a building, there's nothing. It's like the girls vanished. For this reason, I don't build any of those, ever.
I know it would require some writing, but I think it would be really worth it to have a report from the girls' activities in those buildings. I'm sure there are events for those buildings, and I love events, but the reports are also interesting in my opinion.

I agree entirely. For me the whole attraction of this game is in the great writing in the reports that follow the slaves' lives. Once you put them in the buildings they basically disappear and become disembodied numbers.

DeleteI seem to recall that the reason those rooms were first created was specifically to do away with a bloated weekly summery screen. It also seems to me that you have discovered, in not building those rooms, the silver bullet here. Yes you lose some of the benefits, but, that is the cost of hands on administration and a refusal to delegate.
DeleteIt's still disappointing to have to choose between gameplay elements and story. Especially if by choosing a storytelling option, I still lose one part of the storytelling (the events related to the buildings).

There are probably some creative solutions that exist for keeping the interface clean and concise from a managerial perspective, while also not sacrificing personal elements, but a Choose Your Own Adventure engine may not be capable of realizing them.

DeleteMaybe if people really don't want to read the report of the buildings (but why would they want the other reports and not the reports from the buildings, and why not just the reports of the building ?) there could be an option to hide them.
It is an arbitrary choice and I accept it, I just wish it could change.
He could start sorting descriptions by pages:

Pg. 2: Facility 1 Slave life.
Pg. 3: Facility 2.
Pg. 4: Facility 3.
Etc.
Then, allow players to choose which (three, in this case) facilities provide insights and updates. In addition, slave changes will still occur even if the player chooses to hide updates from a particular location (pushing towards reliance on one's judgment and trust in self at this point), just like the case would be in equivalence to running a business. And hiding updates would still provide vague summaries of important activity within a location, given by the leaders of each facility (Head Girl would report penthouse changes):
"Mistress, I have your weekly slave summary ready for you:"
(Slave) has gained some weight/gained a large amount if breast weight/fallen ill/lost trust in you/begun a relationship with (Other Slave)/died.

ReplyDeleteI'm currently playing on African continent with slave trading being limited.
Made my arcology to have superior race of black people, however now, whenever I try to find a new slave on market, it seems whenever search tries to use a country that has only black slaves in it, it generates black page (oh irony, lol), without any links nor errors. Probably can't find any slaves to show, as black race is superior and can't be sold...right?
This means I have to use back option on the side menu, get back to the overview and try again, it takes a while (RNG) to find any result on the market, this applies to all types of customizable one.
Maybe add a rule assistant to the rooms to deduct new additions to the rooms.

As i let all slaves in my servant quaters fight in the pit regulary i would gratly appreaciate some sort of option that automatically sends the loser (whose health is damaged) to the spa and back.
ReplyDeleteIs there any chance that The Daughters of Liberty may be reformed? This could be a side effect of allowing the arcology rivalry to go unaddressed for far too long. It also might spur more covert operations that might destroy/damage facilities in your arcology, siphon your current corporation share holdings or incite resentment even poor moral through hijacked internal video feeds.
ReplyDeleteIs the 'vanishing slave' bug a known thing? I brought this up in the last version's comments. Very annoying and kills my desire to play until it is fixed since you can have slaves vanish without cause or warning, many weeks into the game. I've tried to test for it, and while it does happen constantly in saves, I can't isolate what is causing it.

There are a couple of bugs that can cause this that I've patched out for 0.7.2. If it happens again, let me know what the circumstances were.
DeleteOne suggestion I have is being able to turn off some features from new versions. Kind of like how you can turn things off in a new game but with it being a running menu type option with more choices. I'm not a fan of the hip ratio changes because if you upload a game from an older version it gives half the girls bad ratios. I'm still playing a 0.6.11 game for this reason since I don't want to mess up the progress.
ReplyDeleteI include an option to suppress features when I suspect players will find them annoying, or when I get a lot of mixed feedback - see breast sizes in CCs, for example. But in general, offering total feature control is far beyond my coding abilities.
